Another year has gone by
And that same familiar
hand is holding mine.
The lines around the eyes
are a little deeper, but
the laughter made it so.
The comfort of your arms
still warms my heart
The twinkle in your eyes
still full of the mischief
when we were at our start.
When I close my eyes
to sleep for the night
my dreams are still
full of your face.
Christmas finds us with
our age just being two.
The homecomings of love
we share with pieces
of our hearts given with
no expectations or wants.
The heart strings that
Bind us one to the other
Found in memories of
Christmas’s past and
Christmas future hopes
Our love like the season
