With the change of engine the 16v engine was sold to make way for the turbo to go in.
Unplugging all ancilleries from the Calibra and getting ready to drop the engine and gearbox out together.
A front view of the car. Many say you can't take the engine and gearbox out from underneath a Calibra Turbo but it can be done.
Removal of the engine bay floor pan which also held the front suspension in place. Quite a heavy piece of kit to lug around.

With the car raised it was possible to roll out the engine and gearbox together and position it in the garage and was able to work on it without it falling over.
The transfer box is bolted to the gearbox so the engine/gearbox must be split first to remove the transfer box.
Empty engine bay with the floor pan replaced so it was a rolling shell.
