About My Life Path

I have asked for suggestions on what else people would like to see on this website.
The response has only been one thing I haven't added until now.
A little about myself.
So here goes.

A picture of myself is at the bottom of this page.
Not a recent picture by the way

I was born in a very small villiage in northern NY. I grew up for the most part in the Adirondack mountains. Of which Vroman's Ridge was the one that my footsteps followed paths on the most. Our closest neighbor was a few miles away. I can truly say that it is one of the most beautiful places on this earth. The region has many lakes, streams, waterfalls, and hiking trails. Along with abundant wildlife, are many good down to earth people living there.

The winters in this part of the country can be ferocious. It gets very cold and you have to have a hardy nature and strong spirit to live there in winter.

I graduated from a centralized High school, in one of the larger classes of 69 students. I went on to find my way in the world in the largest city nearby. I went to work as a telephone operator and worked a second job as a cocktail waitress at night. Where I met and eventually married my first husband. That took me to the state of Maine where over a period of the next 6 years, I had 2 children, divorced and moved again.

I eventually came back to NY and went to college, where I attained a Bachelor of Science degree. Worked as an assitant probation officer, supervisor and counselor at an abuse center and shelter. I learned a lot about the pain people can inflict on one another from these jobs.

All through my life I have written poetry and stories. Mostly about life and as a form of escape, a way to get my feelings out when I couldn't express them to an unfeeling world. When I attended college it opened up a whole new world for me. I was asked to join the literary club and from that time on I took off with my writing. I started being published in newsletters and college magazines. My self confidence in my writing ability was going up. All because an English Proffessor showed an interest and gave me encouragement. That is why you will find me right to this day passing that gift along to anyone who wants to show me their writings.

After college, I moved myself and my 2 children South to Virginia, Where I still reside today. I of course live in the mountains here. I feel lost if I am on flat land somehow. I attended college once again after being here several years and obtained a degree in business. I have still continued to write, while working and raising my children. Have been published in a few local magazines and news papers.

Although life has been very hard at times, I am glad it was that way. It has given me fodder for writing and insight into life's pathways. I am a spiritual person, although that may not mean religious as some know it. My spirituality is of kindness, love, respect for all living things. I try to extend my hand in love to all, even my enemies, (of which I hope I've made few).

I thank the Lord everyday for the many blessing that have been given me and when I lay my head down to rest at night, I ask for the protection and healing of hearts all over this world. It is truly my hearts wish, that people find peace in this world, that they learn to love one another, love mother earth and all the living things she provides for us. With out the knowledge that we are all connected, we shall cease to exist. Do not be afraid to look into the eyes of those you meet, or the animals you come in contact with. For eyes are the windows to the soul, what do you see in the reflection of a strangers eyes? Is it a reflecting pool of your own heart? Or a reflecting pool of misery?

You have the choice to make a difference in this world, one heart at a time. I hope you have come to know me a little better and that my eyes have looked into the window of your heart and touched something there. Peace and love to all.
