A Better Place
By: Kenneth R. Cabrieto
I look out the window,
As the skyline races by.
I close my eyes,
And tell myself,
That I'm heading to a better place.
A place where
We
Don't have to be judged by variations
In who we are.
I remember.
I remember I had you by the hand
And I showed you
What could have been
But you backed down,
and left me by my lonely.
If I could do things different
I would let you see
What I've always seen.
See who we are,
Should never be a means to an end.
But it's too late.
Our insides unravel,
Revealing flaws that testify to our weakness.
Get on your knees and join me in prayer.
Our world has now come to an end.
