This is Evermore
By: Kenneth R. Cabrieto

     The moon popped out,
So I plopped down in bed.
     Too many conflicting emotions
     Were battling in my head.

     An Hour later,
     I was dead
     And dreaming.
It was more of a nightmare.
     People running around
     And screaming.
     Drama was every-
     Which way I looked.

     A girl crying
As her boy was walking away.
     Another sad relationship
     Ended today.

     I woke up and suddenly
     I was in hell.
     Tried to remember
     When I had fell.
     What I had dreamt,
     Was not a dream.
It was all too damn real.
     My heart beat no more.
At least, not that I could fell.

     Alone in the dark,
     A single door appeared.
     As I turned the knob,
     Again I woke up.

     It had become undoutedly clear.
The good times I once imagined
     Just were no more.
My life was now surrounded by other people's drama.
     This is Evermore.

This is the original "THIS IS EVERMORE" poem. Back when I wrote this I hadn't really figured out what I wanted Evermore to represent. Now I've got a better idea as to what Evermore represents but this isn't too far off.
