You Can Never Tell
By Kenneth R. Cabrieto

     You can never tell
     Plans always
     Change and rearrange.

     Don't believe me?

     Ask those
     Who are younger
     Than me
     With one or two kids.

     Talk to those
     Who regretfully
     Got married
     Hating life now
     Because they got taken in
     By an empty promise.

     Converse
     With the scholarship winner
     Who fell
     And lost it all.

     Remember those freinds.
     The one you were never
     To lose touch with
     But neither of you call.

     Look up the family
     Of your ex
So you can see them cry.
     While you were mad
     You couldn't hear the news.
     Now you're mad again
     And sad.
It's a pity that they died.
     It's a pity you couldn't say good-bye.

Now that I've got you thinking.
     I'm guessing I can ask.

     Do you really know?

     Can you ever tell?

     Anything can change;
     Even the plans
     You thought out so well.
