autmn leaves: | ||
this is a poem that my mother wrote when we live in vermont. it was published in the grafton town newspaper | In autumn comes the sun and dew where colors of magic come to me and you. Upon the leaves come fire aglow of rust and red and deep yellow. They shine for weeks, they stand so tall amoung the pines the appear so small. They fight the wind with all their might- but one by one they loose their fight. They gather together to roll and toss for they life is over but not at loss. They blanket the ground to cover the earth for the season of Winter is at its birth. So when you see Autumn upon us once more remeber the leaves that roll at your door. Their beauty will linger in your mind through and through- for these leaves are nature's magic made just for me and you. |
