Pet Pal's We Loved and Lost
|
We brought Sam home with us in August 1989, when she was just a little puppy. In February 1990, we brought Ginger home with us when she was just a little puppy so Sam would have a Pet Pal and not be so lonely all day while we were at work. Sam was a tough little trooper and our protector! She always warned us if someone was at the door or if there was a stranger on the premises. We brought Ginger and Sam to the beach house with us all year round, and ran and played with them in the sand. Ginger and Sam loved going on the boat, too, along with their new Pet Pal and brother, Max! We were a happy family and enjoyed doing a lot of things together. In June 1999, our Sam became very sick. We took her to the doctor and she was diagnosed with cancer. We brought her home that night to spend our last few precious moments with her. The following day, we brought her back to the doctor's office and ended her pain. Sam's Angel guided her to Rainbow Bridge at the young age of 10. All of Sam's family and friends miss her very, very much, especially her best Pet Pals, Ginger and Max. Although she's with other Pet Pals in Rainbow Bridge, we feel her presence with us every day, and we will always hold dear in our hearts and thoughts our many precious memories of her . . . . .

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.... Charlie (aka "Phat Rat, Charlie Barlie, and baby Buzz"); Breed: Female American Rat Terrier; Cause of Death: Illness; Attention Grabbing Phrase: "Nummie Nummie Cookies?"; Fave Food: Taco Bell; Fave Stuffed Animal: "Wilbur" her stuffed penguin; Craziest Moment: She totally got spooked when someone woke her up out of a deep sleep, and starting barking at the wall, and then ran around like a crazy crazy, totally looking nutz. Then after she ran around for like 10 min she tried to jump through the glass door to kill her reflection (it was closed). Needless to say she smacked her head pretty hard. We will all miss you Charlie Barlie~!!!!!!!!!!

"Grieve not, nor speak of me with tears but laugh and talk of me as if I were beside you--- I loved you so---'twas Heaven here with you." Isla Pashal Richardson Abby was my first Portuguese Water Dog, registered name "Hunter's Autumn Breeze." She came into our hearts as a seven-week-old, jet-black, bundle of tight curls. She quickly stole our hearts and filled our days with laughter and love. She was a dream to train, and went to work with me daily at a veterinary satellite office. Here she had association with multiple types of people and she learned to trust and love. Abby is now at Rainbow Bridge. Many warm memories of her remain in our thoughts and in our hearts everyday. Even when my own memory is sometimes not so sharp on other things - I hope it will always be sharp on my Angel, Abby . . . .

Dear Sweet Koona, You were only with us such a short time. You were the sweetest baby kitty, and we miss you so much. You were so pretty. We didn't know what you were at first, but then we found out that you were a seal tortie point Himalayan. You had one dark seal colored ear and one ear that was red. Your tail was seal with a patch of red. Your face was seal with a tiny orange button nose and a "kiss" of white on your forehead. Your eyes were like "crying" eyes because of their shape. I remember how they looked when we left you with the vet. You died silently alone. Many tears have been shed for you, and we miss you so much. We hope that you are chasing many butterflies where you have come to rest . . . . . .
