Chapter 3: Oyuki’s Dreams
Oyuki Mamisha walked through the damp sewers smoking a cigarette. Wow, she thought, I can’t believe it’s already been a year since I met the guys and April. Thank god they came along or I would have been toast. If not for Mikey knocking that dagger out of Chein Kahn’s hand I wouldn’t be here right now. She heard a voice from the dark say “You all right O?” “Yeah Donnie, I’m ok. Just thinking about the past year.” Donatello walked up to her and said “Yeah it’s been a hectic one hasn’t it?” She looked at him and smiled. “Yeah we’ve all had our ups and downs, worst was when we all thought Mike might never see again” Don put a hand on her shoulder and said “But he’s fine now so everything is cool.” She looked up at Donatello and said “Yeah, everything’s great” He put his arm around her and said “You look like you haven’t slept in a while” “Not lately” she said. “I’ve been having these nightmares….at least I think they’re nightmares. I’m standing in some weird cave, but I’m not alone. Someone else is there with me. I feel…comfortable, yet scared. Then everything goes dark and I can feel something reaching out for me, like it wants to consume me in evil. And just as it gets its hands around my throat I wake up screaming, all sweaty and out of breath. April comes running in asking what’s wrong but I can’t even explain it, that’s how horrible the dreams are.”
Oyuki looked at Don and could tell he was speechless. “Yeah that was April’s reaction too.” “Maybe you should speak about this to Master Splinter.” Don said, hoping to be of some help. “Well I don’t want anyone thinking I’m crazy or anything, you know?” Don looked at her sternly but softly and said “You know that would be the last thing we think of you as.” “I know” she started “but still….” “No buts” he said “I want you to talk to Master Splinter about this ok? Maybe he can help you out” “I sure hope so Don, because if he can’t then I don’t know if anyone else can” Donatello looked at her, smiled and said “Come on let’s get back, they’re probably worried about us”
Good God, what does this thing want with Oyuki? Leo thought. I must speak with Master Splinter of this. Leo casually walked to Splinters room, trying not to let anyone think something was wrong. Gently Leo opened the door and said “Master?” “Come in, my son” Leo walked in and sat down in front of Splinter. “Master I need to speak to you about something” Splinter looked at Leo worryingly. “What is it that troubles you, Leonardo?” Leo began to tell Master Splinter of what had transpired.
After Leo finished with his story Splinter said to him “I believe there is something to this Leonardo. April came to me a few days ago and explained that Oyuki had not been sleeping well the past few days. She had kept having a recurring nightmare that kept her awake at night. I now believe that her dreams and your vision are linked.” Leo looked at Splinter questioningly “What should we do Master?” Splinter thought to himself for a moment before saying “Perhaps we should talk to Oyuki about what this all means, Leonardo could you go find her for me please? And do not let anyone else know anything is wrong for the moment.” “Easier said than done Master” Leo said, as he left.
