MY SIDE EFFECTS FROM THE DEXAMETHASONE STEROID PILL
The Dexamethasone steroid pill caused me to have 3 side-effects. The 1st one was that I had all of this incredible energy. Sounds good, eh? NOT! The energy was a "wired up" kind. My normal sleeping pattern was to sleep for 9 hours a night, but this pill only let me sleep for 2 hours. The strange thing would be that I was still going strong, after being awake for 22 hours in a row.
The 2nd problem with this pill was that on day 5, when it was wearing off, I was so very tired and drained, from not having enough sleep and from having too much "wired up" energy.
It left me in an emotional and depressed state of mind, which happened one week after finishing taking the steroid pills. This frame of mind would last for about a week. My nerves would be wrecked. I have always been a strong type of person, who can hold up fairly well during a crisis, but this pill really knocked me off my feet. I just kept remembering that this too shall pass, with God's help, and so it did! Thanks be to God!
The 3rd and last side effect from the Dexamethasone steroid pills was that it caused swelling in the ankles, hands, face and tummy. This began 10 days after having the Taxol chemotherapy treatment. At that point, it was also 10 days after I had finished taking the steroid pills. However, the swelling left a week later.
The GAIN is worth the PAIN of the side-effects, for sure! Keep in mind that everyone doesn't have the same side-effects, so others may not experience what I did.
Again, I thank God for being with me every step of the way and bringing me through my ordeal! With Him, all things are possible!
