TO YOU WITH GRATITUDE
When my heart is sad or broken
And I'm feeling such despair,
I know a place that I can go
And find you're always there.
You seem to know just what to say
As well as what to do,
To help my spirits soar again
Just by being you.
The tides of life come in - go out,
Friendship can be hard,
But with you I find I am so free
No need for any guard.
You never judge or criticize
Never push or shove,
Just gently offer a listening ear
And a heart so full of love.
God must have known so long ago
How much I needed you,
He brought our hearts together
He knew just what to do.
Does God send earthly angels?
Oh to me I believe He does.
Now I have my own earthly angel
Full of His wisdom and love.
I want you to know I cherish you
And the friendship that you give,
And that I'll always be YOUR friend
For as long as we both shall live.
