Meeting There are no plans for a meeting at this time. We
will have at least one more before the year is out. For those that need
leadership hours you are welcome to plan and carry out a meeting. Upcoming
Events Well we didn’t get approved for either one of
the GSCNC activities I applied for: teen core camp (May 17 – 19) and kayaking
(June 1). But we will go kayaking on June 1 (see next article). If anyone has
ideas for activities for April or May let one of the leaders know. For the end of the year would the troop like to
go bowling, swimming or skating. These ideas were brought up at one meeting. Input by girl or parent is appreciated for
activities the girls might like Kayaking Mrs. Davis has arranged a troop kayaking trip the
evening of June 1 at Piscataway Creek, Fort Washington, MD. This will be a
twilight trip on flat water and other troops who have done it highly recommend
it. Here are the details: h
June 1 from 6:00pm – 9:00pm (which means leave about 5:00pm and
return around 10:00pm) h
Cost is $35.00 per person and parents are welcome h
The trip will start with a lesson and equipment orientation
(everyone will wear a life vest) h
We can take a trip around the marsh or go to the mouth of the
creek and see Mt. Vernon across the Potomac (but we won’t go on the Potomac)
– we can decide this when we get there h
Return to the landing before pitch black (sunset at 8:30pm that
day) but for safety everyone will have a white light on their vest. The permission slip is attached. Money and
permission slip are due to Mrs. Davis by April 30. GSCNC
Sing-a-long We have finally been
contacted about the sing-along and it looks like we the girls that signed up in
the fall – Mallary, Corianne, Lucy, Tracy and Amy) will be doing some
hospitality (water station, metro, or the “lost” tent). The date again is
Saturday June 8 near the Washington Monument and I have asked for first thing in
the morning. If any of these girls have conflicts now I need to know about them
soon (by April 12). On the other side if any of the other girls are interested
in working Mrs. Davis needs to know by April 12.
At that time the registration will be mailed in. Dollars
