Meeting Monday October 30

The meeting will be a review of Savannah (train tickets and t-shirts will be distributed) and a Court of Awards. We would like one parent to attend. Girls should wear their vest. Refreshments will be provided by the Bentley’s.

If the meeting ends early Mrs. Davis will be glad to individually discuss the Gold Award if you (scout or parent) have questions or want to see if things you are working on fill the requirements. Bring your gold award notebook.

Next Meeting Monday, November 13

The meeting will be spent learning to wrap presents in preparation for the Zany Brainy fundraiser, 9 of you expressed interest in this event so Mrs. Sullivan will be working with you on the schedule. If you are unable to attend this meeting you must work with an adult to learn to wrap gifts.

Career Fair

Remember your responsibilities and be at Trinity Presbyterian at 12:30. All participants will have a permission slip in their folder at the Monday, October 30 meeting. It must be returned by Nov. 2.

Chocolate

Mrs. Pressler has agreed to come to our November 27 meeting to do the chocolate.  This will be part  of the Creative Cooking IP and most of you have 3 requirements already completed for this IP.  Anyone who went gleaning has 4 requirements completed.

 Whitetail Skiing

On the Intent Forms Lucy, Corianne and Lauren said they might be interested in going. However, last night at the TOGA meeting we learned that an 002 trained adult (I know Mrs. Sullivan and Mrs. Tatariw are 002 trained and maybe Mrs. Tatge) must take charge of the group even if families go. Reservations must be paid in full by January 12. Unless someone steps forward to accept the responsibility I will assume that the maybe is a no. For information I have enclosed the price list for those listed above.

December singing on the Ellipse

The “Girl Scouts of Oakton” will have a practice at Waples Mill Elementary on December 11 during our meeting time. This is mandatory for Amy, Tracy, Gina, Katherine, Lucy, Corianne, and Lauren (based in the Intent Form). If you change your mind let Mrs. Davis know immediately as we will be the leadership for the group of younger scouts.

. Lazy Susan Dinner Theater

I have enclosed information for those that indicated an interest (Amy, Tracy, Gina, Katherine, Lucy Corianne and Lauren). The permission slip and money is due the November 13 meeting. The play is Agatha Chritie’s Mousetrap. The cost is $28.00 per person, which does include the tip (left off previous years).

. Thinking Day

For Amy, Katherine, Corianne and Lauren, since you expressed an interest in working on Thinking Day I just wan to remind you that YOU need to contact the coordinator Mrs. McLaren at 703-583-8181 johnkathym@aol.com or Mrs. Cramond 703-758-5081 cramond@erols.com. Your leaders will not be coordinating this. Remember Thinking Day itself is Feburary 24 which is also the day of the Self-Defense Workshop.

Self Defense IP

Everyone signed up for this it is scheduled for Saturday, February 24 at Vienna Presbyterian church, Vienna, from 9 am to 2 pm. Mark your calendars.

TOGA Encampment

The weather was beautiful the organizers kept everyone busy. The two mystery meals, the breakfast was not planned, seemed to be a hit. Mrs. Irvin did a summary of the weekend for the girls to relive the events and so the parents can see what happened.
