The moon was sprinkling the stars about as was his nightly chore
When he noticed down below a gathering he had not seen before,
"What is this activity", he said to himself aloud
And carefully swept away an obscuring cloud.
There in a sleepy town on earth far below
Was a battered stable now all aglow
It sparkled in the light of a star he'd never seen
But also by the radiance of countless celestial beings.
"Say young cherub speeding by, where are you bound?"
"To join this heavenly host, Mr Moon, in that so special town,
Where this night the Son of God Most High, Emmanuel, is born
And with His coming, all mankind from Adam's sin will be torn."
"Why then is the whole world not in adoration kneeling there
Rulers and ruled united, giving thanks in prayer?"
"From obscurity God has ordained the Prince of Peace to come
To show that God accepts those of every walk and station."
"Well little being of light you must be on your way
To illuminate the world's Salvation on this Christmas day
But take these words of mine to everyone who'll listen
I wish them all Peace on Earth and Good Will to Men."
