In 2003 we visited Boone Hall Plantation in Mount Pleasant, just outside Charleston. They have a really lovely rose garden in front of the house. It has lots of great old roses, poppies, foxgloves and other traditional favorites. The grounds feature ponds and Spanish Moss laden live oaks and are situated on the river. The original house burned down and was rebuilt. The guides dress in period costumes and the interior of the house is full of Antebellum furnishings and still captures that period feel. The last room on the tour has lots of memorabelia showing Boone Hall's many media debutes. | |||
