This site is dedicated to all the Original Artists on the web.
Unfortunaterly, a lot of them closed their sites because their Terms Of Use were not respected and their rules were violated. This is pretty sad I think. Others just started charging, another sad thing for people who cannot afford a registration fee, even if this is just a one time registration fee. But it is understandable. Just put yourself in the artists place. Imagine you spent hours, days sometimes even weeks on a set and it turns out great. You put it online, and suddently, someone claims he or she draw it or alters your graphics, recolors, resizes them. This means that they DO NOT accept and respect your work. Some others just don't give credit, and people who visit and like the set don't even have the chance to get it as well.
Imagine all original artists closing their sites. What would the net be without them? Just a place with white sites, no graphics, NOTHING. Would this be that great?
So, here's what I ask you to do:
Always read the artists terms of use. Do not think that the terms of use are all the same. If you don't understand something or you are not sure about something, e-mail the artist and ask. They will be more than happy to answer your question. Drawing graphics myself, I prefer someone telling me he's not using my graphics because he doesn't agree with the terms of use, than someone who uses my graphcis and doesn't respect my rules.
Always give credit where credit is due. That way, the artist can see you appreciate her/his work, and, if someone comes by your site and likes the set you use, this person has a chance to visit the artist as well and take the set from the artist site.
Even if you respect the rules and don't steal graphcis from other sites, someone could be stealing graphics from YOUR site. Be sure that you have the no-righclick script on your site. If you don't have it, look atthe bottom of this site, there's a link to 'Lissa Explains It All'. On her site, you can take the no-rightclick script. But, I admit, even if you have the no-rightclick script on, there are always ways around. Nothing is 100% sure against this type of stealing. But at least, the no-rightclick script gives a warning that you don't wish graphics, pictures or whatever taken from yor site.
Please note that not only stealing graphics is wrong. Many people spent our just to put a site together, and then they have their HTML source stolen or text copied from their sites and pasted to another site. This is theft as well, and that's not alright! Use your own brain!
One more thing: Stealing bandwidth! That means you link directly from one server to another. That's illegal and I heard some hosts have ways to deal with people doing that.

So, next time if you visit an original artist, think about this. They are doing this in their free time, when they could be spending some time doing something else... But they design graphics because they loveit, and want you all to be happy with it. They deserve being appreciated and respected!

Thank You!
