King Arthur Pendragon and his knights of the round table have inspired many people for generations.
While looking though the Web for images of King Arthur's Coat of Arms, I have noticed that there isn't a single web site out there that has those images. I have also noticed several people, including teachers, requesting such pictures, and they have not been able to find any either. So in response to the question of "What did King Arthur's Coat of Arms look like?", I bring you this site.
The following pages gives some information into the main characters of Arthurian legend and a picture of their Coat of Arms. Sources of information include "The Arthurian Companion", by Phyllis Ann Karr, "Armorial des chevaliers de la Table Ronde" by Michel Pastoureau, and from the "Athurian Heraldry Site."
A note: While the majority of these images date back to the Fourteenth Century, the heraldic rules of the time did not account for women. Therefore, in some cases, I used the heraldic rules of ascribing the father's and/or husband's device for the ladies. The only other exception is Merlin, for whom I have not yet been able to find a reference for his device. In the meantime, I have designed one that I think would suit him nicely.
