dice psd
Seafoam Green style (place in your preset style folder or open directly into PS)
www.fontseek.com for 90 Days Font
1. Start with a transparent blank canvas 500 X 500.
2. Open the Dice2.psd, and place to the side of your working canvas.
3. Using the marquee tool, make an oval in the center of your working canvas. (Circled at top left of tools)
4. After you have gotten your marquee oval with marching ants, click on the stamp tool which is actually the clone tool. Click on the picture of the dice. Using the "alt key" and your left mouse button, place the little circle with + in it to the right of the dice. This will give the starting point of the clone. Go to the working canvas starting to the right of the marquee & going left, use the left mouse button & fill in with the dice as reflected below.
5. Still on the working canvas, go to the layer pallette & click on the "f" at the bottom of the layer pallette. This brings up the fields to shadow your image & place overlays.. (this you would use to select styles, or create new styles) Select shadow, set at the below settings.. then go to color overlay & set as below as well.
6. In your layer pallette, select the button to the right of the trash can. This adds a new layer. Select this new layer & with ants still marching. go to select > Modify > Expand =8. Click on the paintcan in your tools and make sure it reflects white. In your styles pallette should be the seafoam green styles you loaded.. click on the first one & click on the circle.
7. Add the text...Select the "T" in your tools. Font = 90 Days, 60pt, sharp, black. Type your name
8. Go to Layers> Duplicate name layer.
9. With the mover tool (arrow)and if the above "Auto Select" is chosen, all you need is to click on whatever you want to move.(This is helpful as opposed to continually going to the layer pallete to select the layer) Move the duplicate name down just a little bit. Go to Edit > Transform > Flip vertical.
10. Line up the upside down name with the right side up name. Select the name & use the second seafoam green style. (This has the black outline).. do the same with the upside down name. After you have filled with the style, choose the upside down name & in the layer pallette, change the opacity of the upside down name to 51%.
13. Now we are going to make the little dice that go around the outside. Go to the dice psd that should still be open on your workspace. Using the lasso tool in the tool bar, choose the dice I have below.. doing one at a time circling the one die as close as possible to the edge. When you have encircled the one die, go to Edit > Copy.
14. Go to File > New 100 X 100.
15. Go to Edit > Paste. With the eraser tool, clean up the edges of the die. Go to the layer pallette & click on the "f" at the bottom & drop shadow as we did earlier.
16. On the new file of the dice, crop to the size of the dice with the crop tool.
17. Resize dice image by going to Edit > Image size. Change from pixel to percent & change to 30%
18. Repeat steps 14 to 17 for the second die.
19. Leave the 2 small die next to your working canvas.
20. You can now get rid of the original dice picture.. we do not need it anymore.
21. Go to your working canvas. Go to Layers & merge Viewable.
22. Go to Layer > Duplicate layer (doing this 7 times so you have 8 copies in your layer pallette.)
23. Deselect all layers in the layer pallette except the bottom one.
24. Using the "drag & drop" method, click on the top die and select it with your left mouse button.. do not let go. Carry it over to the working canvas & place at the 2 O'clock position right above the last letter of the name.
26. Go to Layers >merge viewable
27. Deselect the finished layer & select with the eye the next layer above.
28. Using the "drag & drop" method, click on the bottom die and select it with your left mouse button.. do not let go. Carry it over to the working canvas & place at the 5 O'clock position right below the last letter of the name.
29. Continue steps 26 -28 alternating the dice & spacing them with each step so you have 2 at the bottom of the oval, 2 on the sides (above below first letter of name & 2 above the top of oval. Merging each name layer with a die layer until completed.
30. Once completed, go to File > Save as namedicey.psd
On to the animation:
31. Go to File >Jump to> Image Ready
32. Click on the arrow in the frames section & click on Make frames from layers.
33.Set speed of frame. Click on Frame & select what they have or go to other & set to 0.15. Do this for all frames.
34. Make sure "forever" is selected at the bottom of the animation for the "loop". View animation by clicking on the hand next to the "microsoft explorer icon".
35. If the speed is fine, click on the hand to stop the animation, and then go to File >save optimized as and save as a .gif file.
Voila.. you are done!!!!
