My Political Socialization

I was born in a place that is not a city, country, state, province, or town. That's right, the fair city of Washington D.C! However, I only lived there for 2 years. Then I relocated to Panama due to my father's government entanglements. I spent 3 years in Panama where I contracted over 20 ear infections, had seizures, got attacked by dogs, and had to get stitches for a wound inflicted after I was jumping on a couch. Our house had bats in the attic, too. I think I was alergic, but can't prove it. We returned to the states and settled in what now is my home in the quaint area of Herndon, Virginia. My fam lived here for a year, and I suppose got bored of the suburbian lifestyle and packed up again. This time we went to Okinawa, Japan where I attended Bob Hope Primary School for two glorious years. I didn't get as sick as I did in Panama. But I did own some pet gekkos. Then we came back to the states... To our crusty house in Herndon, Virginia. And here I have lived since 1993.

My parents are both democratic, my mom is more conservative than my father. I've heard many-a-story about the protests and other feats that my father has endured to "fight the man".... He was a hippie, but too young to be a real one. A poser hippie. My rents are both Jewish, so I was brought up Jewish. That amplifies the liberal leanings, I suppose.

Personally, I side with the democrats, seeing as though they are right in all ways. My parents had somewhat of an influence, but I believe that because I was brought up with other cultures and am more worldly... I think that has made me have a broader view on things. This year I've become a cspan slash cnn junkie (not republican foxnews, mind you) and think I get outside influences on my political views as well.
