DRILL AND CEREMONIES

PURPOSE: TO TEACH CADETS THE CORRECT WAY OF MARCHING AND PURPOSE BEHIND DRILL AND FORMATIONS.

FORMATIONS:

BRC: TO TEST THE ABILITY OF A HIGHLY UNORGANIZED MILITIA BY FORCING 1,200 OF THEM INTO A TINY DINING FACILITY.

DRC: SAME AS BRC BUT WITH A SHORTER TIME DURATION.

SRC: ACADEMICS COME LAST, MARCHING FIRST, PARADE FIRST; TO BE UNIQUE AMONGST ALL OTHER MILITARY COLLEGES.

ON MARCHING:

BODY: LEANED BACK AT A SLIGHT ANGLE
LEGS: KICKED AND EXTENDED ALL THE WAY OUT

CALLING COMMANDS:

THE COMMAND HAS TWO PARTS: (1)PREPATORY AND (2) EXECUTION. WAYS TO CALL THE COMMAND

i.e. RIGHT FACE (HAVING THE SOLDIER FACE TO THE RIGHT WHICH WOULD BE YOUR LEFT): “RAH-AITTTTTTTTTT …[PAUSE]…HHOOOO”!

THE PREPARTORY COMMAND WAS “RAH-AITTTTTTTTTT” AND EXECUTION COMMAND “HHOOOO”

i.e. PARADE REST (HAVING THE SOLDIER ASSUME THE POSITION OF PARADE REST): “PPPPPPPAAAAAAAAHHHH (THERE IS AN EMPHASIS ON THE “PAH” PART”) WAID…[PAUSE]…HHOOOO!”
