Robert (Bob) Artman, 55, died suddenly Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2000, in Colorado.

A native of Newport News, he graduated from Newport News High School in 1963 and received his bachelor's degree from Christopher Newport College. He also served in the U.S. Army.

Bob was preceded in death by his mother, Anne Holton Artman, and his older brother, George B. Artman III.

He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Lorraine (Rainey) Artman; his father, George B. Artman Jr., two brothers, Richard L. Artman, and his daughter, Laurie A. Artman, and Michael A. Artman, and his wife, Terri; one sister, Frances A. Shelton, her husband, Carl, and children Sara, Jake and Whitney.

The family will receive relatives and friends at his sister's home, 569 Crown Point Drive, Village Green, Newport News, on Friday, Nov. 3, 2000, from 6 to 9 p.m.
