Herb Wines

Some herbs are known to react with your medication. Please consult your physician before starting on any herb.



Many many moons ago Herb Wines were widely used as medicine.
In addition to the herb, needed also is; 1 litre white grape concentrate, 1 pound sugar, yeast and yeast nutrients, enough water to fill the mixture to 1 imperial Gall. Air lock etc.

Balm Wine:
was used to reduce fevers by inducing perspiration.
2 pints Balm leaves loose packed required.

Borage Wine:
was used for chest complaints and fevers.
1 pint borage leaves

Burdock Wine:
was used for "blood purifying".
1 pound of burdock leaves

Coltsfoot Wine:
was used for coughs.
3 pints of coltsfoot flowers

Comfrey Wine:
was used for chest problems.
5 roots

Dandelion Wine:
was used as a laxative.
3 pints of dandelion flowers

Elder Leaf Wine:
used for urinary irregularities.
2 pints leaves

Woodruff Wine:
used for liver and stomach complaints.
4 pints of woodruff flowers
