Reunion 2006

"Epilogue"

I don't know what happened this time with attendance. I honestly thought with the events of Septemeber 11 that the last reunion was wrecked. It turned out to be spectacular, with a third of the class (37 of 108) attending. This time we had twenty classmates. I am open to suggestions for improvement. Should we have reunions every decade? In the Summer, rather than October? Would we be better served to rent the ballroom at a hotel? We are sensitive to the fact that some classmates have a different standard of living than others, and we constantly worry that the fees are too high or the accommodations too spartan. We would love to have help in making the 30th a great experience, and one that everyone will treasure.

On the up side, I was very, VERY shy in high school, and while I've known you all most of my life, I never really got to KNOW you. I think that changed somewhat this year. I had very personal conversations. I partied with people who I thought were very straight-laced, only to find out that they were doing the exact same things I was doing, only in different cliques or different areas. I was an active part of the dancing, which is something that, as a kid I could have never mustered the courage to do. I think that's why I love reunions. The only bummer is that we do it only every five years.

I guess this is a "blog" in the Internet world, and my blog is over until 2011. By the way, as I write this epilogue Halloween is approaching. My band is playing a private costume party, and I'll be playing drums dressed as - you guessed it- Peter Criss (the Cat Man) from Kiss. Here's to never growing up and never growing old! I remain

Yours Truly,
Frank
