Class: Gallica Height: 4-6' Width: 2-3' Hardiness: Zones 4-8 Bred: LaFay, France, around 1840 Description: Fragrant, purplish, once blooming, very double. The petals have a bit of white at the base. Named for the 17th century cardinal in "The Three Musketeers". Comments: I purchased Cardinal de Richeleiu as a bareroot rose from Pickering in the Spring of 2000 and planted it in Rose Bed Three that Fall. It bloomed well its first Spring and put on a lot of new growth but has remained fairly low growing. It had a little rust in the Fall, but has otherwise remained very healthy. | ||
