Great Maidens Blush

Class: Alba
Height: 5-8' Width: 5'
Hardiness:to zone 3-9
Bred:unknown, pre-1500

Description: Double, spring/early summer flowering, light pink, fragrant, shade tolerant.

Comments: Rose was planted in the Spring of 2001 in Front Garden. It grew to about five feet in the first year and put on its first display of flowers in 2002. The foliage is very clean and disease resistant.

So far, the rose tends to put forth long, arching canes with most of the growth at the ends of the canes. In 2003, I started lightly pruning it in late summer, early fall, to get a more bushy plant. In 2004, it gave a beautiful spring display. Great Maidens blush is one of my last once bloomers to flower in the spring.
