Description: Single with violet colored petals around a prominent golden stamen.

Comments: I ordered La Belle Sultane as a bareroot plant from Pickering in the Spring of 2000. After growing it in a five gallon pot, it was moved to Rose Bed Four in the fall of 2000. Spring of 2001 it produced an abundance of gorgeous flowers and quickly stole my heart, which usually leans toward very double roses.

This rose is among my favorites and deserves a spot in every garden. Once bloomer or not, it steals the show like no other rose!
