Class: Bourbon Height: 2-6' Width: 6' Hardiness:to zone 3-4 Bred:Beluze, France, 1843 Description: Fragrant, light pink, repeat flowering, very double, quartered. Comments: I grew this rose in my previous garden, but after having a difficult time getting it started--several plants kicked it for no apparent reason--I did not want to dig it up and move it. So, Fall 2001, I bought another own root plant and planted it inRose Bed Five. |
It gets a little blackspot in my organic garden. I have found leaf cutter bees to be fond of it, but the damage is so slight and the neat circles they remove are so curiously fascinating, that this does not bother me. To me, this is not one of my most fragrant roses, but the color and form are such perfection that it still makes it onto my list of favorites. |
