Chapter 23
Tyler lay in Kevin's arms after they'd made love. They were both hot and sweaty from the show and from making love but neither seemed to mind. They were both wrapped up in their love.
Kevin asked softly, "Did you like tonight, baby?"
"Tonight was incredible, 'Boo'!"
"I'm glad I could make you happy! I'll have to admit, the light in your eyes had been gone for so long, I wasn't sure I'd ever see it again."
"It's because of you," said Tyler as she kissed him tenderly. Then she held her hand so that she could look at the ring. "This is so beautiful."
"Part of the reason I took you to Kentucky was to get the ring from Mama. She's been keeping it for me."
"It looks like an antique."
"It's been in my family since the eighteen hundreds. See, there's a Kevin Scott in every other generation of Richardsons and the ring is passed to them when they propose to the love of their life."
"That is so sweet," yawned Tyler.
Kevin whispered, "Go to sleep, baby," and he began to sing softly to her. Tyler relaxed and fell asleep easily. When Kevin knew she was sound asleep, he relaxed too. He fell asleep easily.
The next morning, Tyler woke to the smell of coffee and realized that Kevin wasn't in bed with her. She got up and found one of Kevin's shirts and a pair of sweats. She pulled them on and went to find Kevin. She saw him in the mini kitchen wearing nothing but his boxers. Tyler had to stop for a minute to catch her breath! He looked so damn good standing there fixing breakfast.
Tyler went to him and put her arms around his waist giving him a light kiss on the back.
"Good morning, baby," said Kevin as he turned in Tyler's arms. "How'd you sleep?"
"Like a log. Where are we?"
"A couple hours out of Tacoma. We'll be there for two shows and then Portland. Are you going to fill in for Connie?"
"If Fatima wants me to, yeah. 'Boo', we've got a lot to talk about."
"You mean the wedding?"
"And where we're going to live once we're married, how we're going to deal with Joey, and am I going to keep working."
Kevin laughed, "It doesn't have to be resolved before breakfast. Every thing will work out. After we eat, we'll talk about the wedding."
"What about the other things?"
"In good time, baby! Be patient."
Tyler said, "I've already planned a lot of the wedding."
"I figured as much."
Kevin served up breakfast while Tyler got some juice out of the refrigerator. They sat together and ate breakfast without saying a word. Afterwards, Kevin cleaned up and rejoined Tyler on the couch.
She was looking at the tour dates and a calendar. "Linda left a schedule on the table," said Tyler. "After Mexico City, you have a month off. We could get married at Easter."
"Sounds fine, 'Tadpole'," said Kevin.
Kevin was sitting on the opposite end of the couch with his feet in Tyler's lap. She looked up at him and the twinkle in his eyes and his smile were too much for her. She moved up and sat between his legs.
Kevin began kissing her neck.
"Kevin, stop!" laughed Tyler as his mustache tickled her neck.
Still kissing her, Kevin said, "I can't! I'm still hungry."
"You promised we'd talk about the wedding," said Tyler trying to ignore Kevin but it was difficult. He had his hands on her roaming freely as he kissed her neck.
"So talk," said Kevin.
"How's April 14th?"
"Mmmm," said Kevin as he continued his assault on Tyler's neck.
Tyler couldn't take it and said, "I give up."
Kevin had her lay on the couch under him as he said, "It's about time, woman!"
Tyler laughed and brushed his hair back. "You're incorrigible!"
"Uh huh!" said Kevin as he kissed her deep.
Tyler ran her hands across Kevin's arms as she thought, "God, he's so strong and I feel so safe in his arms."
Kevin slipped his hand under her shirt and began to caress her stomach. Tyler could feel his erection pressing against her and she wanted him.
Tyler asked, "What about your driver?"
"He can't join us!"
Tyler couldn't help but laugh but it was useless to fight Kevin. Before she knew it, he had her sweats off and his boxers too. He entered Tyler slowly and began to take long, slow strokes. Their tongues danced in a heated dance of passion. He pulled back from the kiss and locked his eyes on hers as he placed feathery kisses all over her face. Tyler loved the feel of Kevin's kisses, the weight and warmth of his body, and the feel of his cock deep inside her.
She moaned, "God! I want all of you."
Kevin's strokes continued to be slow and steady as he enjoyed the feel of her body. He whispered, "I can't get enough of you."
Tyler began to shake as waves of ecstasy took her. She whimpered, "Oh, Kevin!"
Kevin watched with love as the orgasms flooded Tyler but it only set him off. His strokes became shorter and faster and in seconds, he released his passion into her and collapsed in her arms. As they lay together trying to regain their composure, Kevin played with her hair.
He whispered, "Baby, I love you."
Tyler kissed him lightly on the lips. "I love you."
"You ready to talk about the wedding?"
"I guess. Promise not to distract me?"
"No!"
Tyler playfully hit him and said, "How are we suppose to plan this in a month if you aren't going to help me?"
"Baby, I don't care how it happens, just as long as it happens! You can have whatever YOUR heart desires."
"My heart desires you!"
The two got up and dressed then sat back down to talk. Tyler sat in Kevin's lap and leaned her head on his shoulder as they talked. Sonja would be the maid of honor, Brian, the best man, and Howie would give Tyler away. Kevin was going to wear a tux to match Tyler's dress which she wanted to be off-white. It would be at sunset with candles lighting the church. Tyler wanted ivy and roses throughout the church and she'd carry one single white rose. Since the chapel was small, they decided to invite only their families and the guys. For Kevin, that would practically fill the chapel. To include all their friends, everyone would be invited to a reception at the local country club.
Kevin asked, "After your doctor's appointment, why don't you fly to Kentucky and let Mama help you? She'll know who to call for everything."
"What about money?"
"Don't worry about it."
"What about the invitations?"
Kevin thought for a minute and then said, "How about two hearts overlapping and the chorus from 'I Promise You'?"
"Sing it to me." Tyler knew the words but she loved to hear Kevin sing.
Softly he sang, "I promise you/from the bottom of my heart/I will love you 'til death do us part/I promise you/As a lover and a friend/I will love you like I'll never love again/With everything I am." Kevin didn’t' stop with the chorus but rather finished the song. Then he gave Tyler a kiss.
Tyler said, "I think that would be beautiful."
"Anything else?"
"Are we going to write our own vows?"
"Why don't we stick to the traditional ones?"
"That's fine. Howie and I've already talked about songs. He was going to talk to the guys and they are going to sing for us."
"Have you picked the songs?"
"Sorta. I told him that you might want one in there too but whatever they chose would be fine with me."
"All that we need to do now is talk about the honeymoon."
"I don't care what we do."
The driver came into the living area and said, "We're at the hotel, Kevin."
"Thanks, Raymond," said Kevin. Then to Tyler, "We'll talk about the honeymoon later. I have some ideas of where I want to take you."
The couple got up and went to get dressed. Then Kevin grabbed their bags and followed Tyler off the bus. They met the other guys and headed into the hotel where they met up with Linda.
Linda had to check them in so while they waited, Tyler talked to Howie, Nick, and AJ. "Are you guys okay with Kryss, Fiona, and Lex?"
"We're fine," said Howie.
"I'm sorry, guys. I never meant to come between you and them."
"It wasn't your fault, Ty," said AJ. "They knew from the very beginning how we felt about you."
Nick said, "Tyler, we love them very much but we've known you forever. Hell, you're like my big sister."
"Guys, promise me one thing."
"Anything," chorused AJ and Nick.
"Make sure you show them how important they are to you and if it means ignoring me, FINE!"
AJ said, "We're not going to ignore you, Tyler, but we will be more attentive to them."
Howie said, "They have to compromise too which means accepting our relationship with you."
"Where are the girls anyway?" asked Kevin.
Brian said, "They had to fly home. We'll see them next week."
"How?" asked Tyler.
"We're going home with you for your doctor's appointment," said Nick.
Linda came over. "Here are your room keys. Go up, clean up, and get changed. You're doing an autograph session at the local radio station at two o'clock. Tyler, Connie's still sick. Can you fill in for her?"
"Sure."
"You have a rehearsal at two then. 'Bull' will make sure you get to the arena."
"That's cool," said Tyler. "Linda, Kevin and I set a date for April 14th. Could you keep that month clear for us?"
"No problem," said Linda. "Now, you guys go on up and get ready. We'll all meet for lunch in the restaurant and then go to the radio station."
The rest of the week flew by for Tyler, Kevin, and the guys. They were kept busy with public appearances, rehearsals, and the shows. The only time Kevin and Tyler had together was when they were traveling between towns or after shows but they were happy to be together.
