Chapter 25
The next morning, Tyler woke to AJ and Nick serenading her. She rolled over to find that Kevin was already up. She looked at the clock...9 o’clock. She thought to herself how tired she’d been. Then she said, "What are you two doing here?"
"We came to serenade you," said Nick as he gave Tyler a rose.
"You two have GOT to STOP!"
AJ said, "We will when you move to Kentucky."
"Or I change the locks," said Kevin as he came out of the bathroom wearing nothing but a towel around his waist. "Clear out, guys."
AJ and Nick gave Tyler a kiss on the cheek before leaving the room. Kevin slammed the door behind them and locked it. Tyler laughed because Kevin was so exasperated by them.
He said, "I can’t leave them alone with you around."
"Don’t worry, ‘Boo’! I only love you even though what they did was really sweet."
"I’ll remember that," said Kevin as he gave Tyler a kiss.
"You don’t have to. I LOVE the way you sing me to sleep," said Tyler as she pulled the towel from his waist. Then she took his hands and pulled him to her on the bed.
Kevin grinned, "What do you want, baby?"
Impishly, Tyler said, "YOU!"
Kevin lay beside Tyler and she rolled on top of him. He said, "Why don’t you take this shirt off?"
Tyler took it off with Kevin’s help and he ran his hands down her back to her bare butt as they kissed. Tyler moved her kisses from his lips, down his neck to his chest. She lingered around his nipples flicking her tongue across them.
Kevin moved his hands from her butt to her breasts. Cupping them in his hands, he played with her nipples. "Umm, you seem a little excited," teased Kevin.
"Just a little," said Tyler as she reached down to Kevin’s erection. "But not nearly as excited as you."
Tyler pulled away and ran her tongue across his stomach stopping at his navel. With her hands, she caressed his inner thighs.
Kevin shuddered with excitement. "Your touch is electrifying."
Tyler took Kevin’s shaft into her mouth running her tongue along the head. She moved up and down on him, making love to him with her mouth. Afterwards, Tyler lay beside Kevin running her finger along his upper lip and playing with his mustache. Kevin caught her finger in his mouth and kissed it.
"You amaze me, Ty."
"Why?"
"What you do to me!"
"You mean because you’re the only man I’ve been with?"
"Yeah."
"I’ll tell you a secret. AJ and I are so close because I can talk to him about anything and he’s the one who taught me how to drive a man crazy."
Kevin looked at Tyler, a little jealous as he asked, "You mean you’ve done this with AJ?"
"NO!! I said he TOLD me how to do it! I’ve never been with AJ like this."
"Did you two ever date?"
"When we were in high school, we went to dances together and we made out but that’s it. Nothing more."
As the couple lay together, Nick came to the door and started banging. "Are you two going to stay in there the whole time?"
Kevin rolled his eyes and said, "GO AWAY, NICK!"
Tyler laughed and said, "We’ll be there in a little while, Nick."
Nick left and Kevin said, "I like the idea of staying right here the whole time."
"When do you have to leave for Vegas?"
"Day after tomorrow. The show is the 8th at 7:30."
"Are we going to be together the whole time?"
"Just try to get rid of me. What do you want to do while I’m home?"
"Other than just hang out, I need to go see Mami and Pops and check in at work."
"We can do that today. What about the day at the park for Tiffany?"
"I hadn’t forgotten. Do you think the others would be up for it tomorrow?"
"I don’t see why not. They should all be downstairs. You can ask them when we go down."
"I guess we should get up then."
The two got up, dressed, and went downstairs. Nick, AJ, and Howie were playing Nintendo and Brian was eating breakfast.
Howie looked up as Tyler gave him a kiss on the cheek. "Morning, ‘D’!"
"Hey, Ty! Rested?"
"Yeah!"
Kevin went to the kitchen and got Tyler and himself some fruit and a bagel for breakfast. He brought it back to her in the living room and sat down with Brian at the table.
Brian asked, "What are you two going to do today?"
Tyler said, "Doctor’s appointment, go by Mami’s, and then check in at work. I have a favor to ask you guys. At my last checkup, we met this little girl named Tiffany who’s father had abused her. Her mother said that your music was the only thing that seemed to get through to Tiffany and when I asked if she’d ever been to Disneyworld, her mother said they couldn’t afford it. I want to set up a day at the park with you guys for her."
"Sounds good," said Brian. "When do you want to do it?"
"How about tomorrow?"
"That’s fine. The girls have tomorrow off and can go with us too," said AJ.
Nick asked, "Which one of us is her favorite?"
"You!" said Kevin disgustedly.
Nick threw a pillow at Kevin. "You’re just jealous."
"Not really!" said Kevin.
"Ty, why don’t I go with you to pick her up?" offered Nick.
"Thanks, Nick."
Howie said, "Okay. Tonight, don’t make any plans. Kryss, Lex, and Fiona have planned an engagement party for the four of you. She’s called your parents to come down for it."
"Cool!" said Tyler. "When and where?"
"Tonight, 8 PM at Tabu. In fact, Howard, Jackie, and Ann should..." the doorbell rang and Howie continued, "are here now!"
Brian went to answer the door and Howie was right. It was his parents and Ann. Kevin, Tyler, and Brian greeted them with hugs and Kevin introduced Tyler to Jackie and Howard.
Kevin said, "Mom, I hate to leave as soon as you get her, but Tyler has a doctor’s appointment."
"It’s fine, son. Tyler, how are you feeling?"
"Just great. Thanks, Mom."
"Mom, we’ve got several things to do but we’ll be back later to get you. I thought since you’re here, you can go with us when we go talk to Hoke and Paula about the wedding," said Kevin.
"Have you set a date yet?"
Tyler said, "April 14th."
Harold said, "That’s kind of soon, isn’t it?"
Ann said, "I’ll explain later, Harold. You two go on to the doctor’s. I’ll see you this afternoon."
"Thanks, mom," said Kevin as he gave his mother a kiss. He knew that Harold wouldn’t be pleased to hear that Tyler was pregnant but his mother would handle that.
Ann gave Tyler a kiss too and watched as Tyler and Kevin left with Howie.
The three drove to the doctor’s office in silence. The guys knew that Tyler was nervous. She had told Joey about the appointment but she had no idea whether or not he’d show up.
When they arrived at the doctor’s office, Tyler spotted Joey and Lance. She said, "Well, Joey’s here."
"Are you okay with that?" asked Kevin.
"As long as there’s no fighting."
Kevin mumbled, "Then he’d better behave himself."
Tyler cut her eyes at Kevin. "Please, Kevin. Don’t start anything."
"I won’t but he’d better not say or do anything to hurt you."
Howie said, "Ty, we’re just trying to protect you.
At the same time, Lance was telling Joey. "Be nice."
"Why?"
"Because, Tyler’s being EXTREMELY generous asking you to come today. She could be pressing charges for rape and not letting you be involved at all."
"How can I be sure that it’s my baby in the first place?"
"Don’t be stupid. If it were Kevin’s, why would she tell you? She’s not that mean."
Tyler, Kevin, and Howie joined Lance and Joey and Tyler said, "Hey, guys."
Lance said, "I hear congratulations are in order."
Kevin shook his hand, "Thanks!"
Joey had his eyes locked on Tyler and everyone was very aware of it. Tyler said, "Joey, I’m glad you came today."
"I brought you your stuff from my place. It’s in Lance’s car."
"Thanks."
Howie offered, "I’ll go get it for you, Ty."
Kevin handed Howie the keys to his truck and Howie and Lance went to get Tyler’s stuff.
Tyler said, "We’d better go in."
Kevin, Tyler, and Joey went in to the doctor’s office where Tyler signed in. The three sat together in the waiting room but no one said a word. Kevin made it plain that Tyler was with him by holding her hand in his.
When the nurse came to get her, Tyler said to Kevin, "Let Joey go back with me."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes," said Tyler as she kissed Kevin. She whispered, "I love you."
"I love you, too."
Tyler looked at Joey. "Come on. You can hear the heartbeat."
Joey followed Tyler back and stood quietly off to the side as the nurse checked her vitals. Then he followed Tyler to the examining room as the nurse said, "You don’t need to change. The doctor is only going to do a tummy check."
"Thank you."
When Joey and Tyler were alone, Joey asked, "Why are you doing this?"
"Doing what?"
"Letting me be involved?"
"Because you’re the father."
"But I raped you."
Tyler took Joey’s hand. "Joey, you tried so hard to get me to fall in love with you and I wasn’t very honest with you about my feelings for Kevin. You were hurt that night and I don’t blame you completely. It was Lou who hurt both of us."
Joey shook his head, "Kevin’s a lucky man."
"I’m the lucky one."
"Tyler, I’ll be honest with you. I’m not sure I can handle being
around you knowing that I lost you to Kevin. I still love you with all that I am
and the only reason that I came today was because of Lance."
Tyler smiled sadly. "I’m sorry you feel that way, Joey. What are we going
to do about the baby?"
"I don’t know."
The doctor came in and Joey stepped aside to let him examine Tyler. He did answer the questions the doctor had about his family’s medical history and listened as he gave Tyler instructions. The doctor also gave Joey a copy of the ultra sound.
Tyler and Joey joined Kevin, Howie, and Lance in the waiting room after Tyler made her next appointment.
Awkwardly, Joey said, "Thanks for letting me be a part of this, Tyler. I don’t deserve..."
Tyler stopped him by putting her hand on his shoulder and giving him a kiss on the cheek. She said softly, "It’s okay, Joey. I forgive you."
Joey looked at Kevin. "You got yourself a real angel."
Kevin put his arms around Tyler as he said, "I know."
Lance said, "Good luck to you with the wedding and the rest of the tour."
"Thanks," said Howie. "You too."
With that, Lance and Joey left and Tyler hugged Kevin tighter.
Kevin asked, "Are you okay?"
"I’m fine. Let’s go!"
