Chapter 35
As Kevin and Tyler headed to dinner, Tyler asked, "How did AJ know about the cool whip, ‘Boo’?"
"I don’t know, baby. Lucky guess?"
Tyler looked up at him, "Are you sure?"
Kevin laughed as he crossed his heart, "I do not know how AJ knew because I don’t tell what I do in the bedroom."
"How I knew what?" asked AJ as he was coming from his bus.
"Oh, nothing," said Tyler trying to blow it off. She really didn’t want to get into it with AJ about the cool whip.
Kevin said, "Tyler wanted to know how you knew about the cool whip."
AJ laughed, "The cans were still by the bed this morning when you woke everyone with your screams. What exactly did you two lovers do with that cool whip?"
Kevin put his arm around Tyler’s shoulder and she wove her fingers with his. Kevin kissed her and said to AJ, "Wouldn’t you like to know?"
AJ laughed because Tyler was blushing, "Oh, I can imagine. Ty, why be embarrassed after the talks we use to have?"
"Because the talks we had were PRIVATE and I didn’t have my boyfriend listening!!"
"By the way, Lex said to tell you that that kid we took to Disneyworld, Tiffany, has been calling for you and she wants you to call her as soon as possible."
"Thanks. Did you tell Lex about Amanda?"
"Yes, I did. I also sent her roses. That’s why she called in the first
place."
"Good boy!"
The three joined Nick, Brian, and Howie in the dining area where everyone else was gathered. Tyler saw Amanda and Kristen and knew that they were watching Kevin and AJ. She did her best to ignore them but it was difficult.
Howie said, "Ty, Mami called and said the invitations were in and she,
Pollyanna, Sonja, and Kryss are going to start on them tomorrow. She wants you
to call her in the morning to make sure of which addresses are for the ceremony
and which are for the reception only."
"Great!! Kevin and I marked the ones for each. Kevin, before I leave
tomorrow, we need to talk about what songs you want in the ceremony and
where."
"That’s fine. I have a couple in mind."
Howie asked, "Ty, have you decided on what you want to do?"
"Yeah, but I want to run it by Kevin first."
Brian spoke up, "Ty, I talked to Sonja earlier and she needs to talk to you too."
"Why didn’t they all just call me?" asked Tyler exasperatedly.
Howie said, "Mami tried to call but no one answered."
"Lex tried too."
"So did Sonja."
Tyler looked up at Kevin who said innocently, "I turned the phone off, baby. I didn’t want us to be disturbed."
Nick asked, "Is that why Carlos stood at the door of your bus?"
Tyler grinned, "Well, Kevin?"
"Guilty!" said Kevin as he put his arms around Tyler. "I just
wanted to have some time alone with you since you’re leaving tomorrow and it’s
going to be three weeks before I see you again. And I’m going to miss your
birthday!!"
"You know," said Brian. "We could get the girls to fly out to LA in a couple weeks. It would be nice to see them."
Howie said, "We’ll be doing the Tonight Show on Ty’s birthday. Why
don’t we get them to join us for that?"
"Sounds like a reason to have a party," said AJ.
Tyler had her arms around Kevin’s waist as she looked up at him. "I’d love to come out."
"Cool! Now that that’s settled, let’s eat!" said Nick. "I’m
starved"
Everyone laughed because Nick was always starving. Tyler said, "He’s
still a growing boy!"
They all got their plates and sat down to eat. Tyler made sure that they sat at the opposite end of the table from Kristen and Amanda but no one really noticed. They talked about the show, the girls coming out for the Tonight Show, and whatever came up.
After dinner, the guys went to get ready for the show. Tyler gave Kevin a kiss and headed to where the dancers got ready.
Kristen was there already helping the others get ready and Tyler tried hard to ignore her. It was even more difficult now than at dinner because Kristen kept going on and on about how Kevin loved her and she was going to get him back. The dancer she was talking to just looked at her like she was crazy.
Finally, Tyler couldn’t stand it any more. "Kristen, would you please drop it? Kevin told you he doesn’t love you and that you’re over."
"You’re just jealous," shot Kristen.
"Why should I be jealous?"
"Because you know he’s only with you because he feels sorry for you."
Tyler laughed, "You’re delusional, Kristen."
"Whatever!" said Kristen. "You can believe what you want but you’ll see. Kevy Kev will dump you in a heartbeat and come back to me."
By now, Tyler was really ticked and the others could tell. Angrily, Tyler said, "Kristen, Kevin was over you before you ever walked out on him. And he told you today that it’s over. If I find out you’ve tried to mess with him while I’m gone, you’re going to be fired."
"You can’t fire me and how do you know he was over me before I left? He cried when I told him I was leaving."
By now, Christine and Fatima were in the room and they told the others to clear out. Tyler said, "Well, you see, that tadpole tattoo that Kevin has is for me. My nickname is ‘Tadpole’ and he told you that it was because he liked frogs. As for firing you, you and Amanda are walking a fine line. Mess with Kevin or AJ and find out whether or not I can fire you."
Fatima said, "Tyler, it’s time to go on."
Tyler followed Christine and Fatima out of the dressing room and they stopped outside. Christine asked, "I take it you’re taking the job."
"Yes, and PLEASE, let me be the one to fire her!"
"No problem!" said Christine as she hugged Tyler. "I’ll let them know."
"I have to give my notice to Disneyworld but I’ll join up with the guys for the South American leg."
Fatima gave Tyler a hug saying, "Thank you! It’s about time!"
Tyler laughed, "I know!"
The dancers took their spots on the stage and the lights went down. The music started and the guys hit the stage. The show was AWESOME and Tyler knew she had made the right decision as she watched Kevin perform. She loved being with him and being able to dance was a bonus.
After the show, the dancers went to change while the guys did their encore. Tyler changed quickly and went back to wait for Kevin knowing that after the encore they would sign autographs. As they were making their way backstage, Kristen appeared out of the crowd and threw her arms around Kevin kissing him.
AJ and the others saw Tyler headed towards them and AJ said, "This should be interesting."
When Kevin realized that it was Kristen and not a fan or Tyler, he pushed her back. "I told you it was over, Kristen."
"But Kevin, I love you and you promised me you’d always love me. You never make a promise you can’t keep. Besides, you hugged me back."
"I thought you were a fan."
Tyler said, "I told you, Kristen, stay the hell away from Kevin."
"Or what?"
"You’re fired!"
Kristen laughed, "You can’t fire me."
Kevin said, "Yes, she can. Tyler is in charge of the dancers along with Fatima and she has control over hiring and firing."
The guys were shocked but not more than Kristen.
Tyler smiled maliciously, "See Kristen, you were used, just like you used Kevin. You were hired to entice ME to come to work for the guys. Whether you stayed on depended on how you behaved and I warned you before the show. You obviously didn’t listen. Kristen, you’re fired."
Kristen tried to slap Tyler as she said, "YOU BITCH!"
Tyler caught Kristen’s arm. "Get your things and clear out. If you don’t do it voluntarily, I’ll have Billy help you."
Kristen looked around at the guys and saw Billy, ‘Bull’, and Carlos waiting to do whatever Tyler asked. She looked back at Kevin. "I just need to know one thing. Was the tadpole tattoo for Tyler? Were you really in love with her while we were still together?"
Kevin said, "Yes, the tattoo was for Ty and yes, I was in love with her before you left."
"One more thing, Kristen. Kevin despises being called Kevy Kev....because of you."
With that, Kristen stormed away and Kevin took Tyler in his arms. He kissed her, deep and passionately, holding her close. Kevin pulled back and looked into her eyes, "Tyler, I love you!"
"I love you, Kevin."
The others were thrilled that Tyler had decided to join them and they gave her hugs all around. Howie was especially glad that his cousin would be with them so that he could look out for her, not that she really needed looking out for but he was still being protective of her.
Going up to their room at the hotel, Tyler leaned against Kevin and watched the other four who were hyped from the show. They were dancing around the elevator and the squirt guns appeared.
As Tyler got hit, she said irritably, "Stop, Nick!"
"What’s wrong?"
"I just don’t want to get hit by water."
Kevin looked at Nick and shook his head telling him to stop.
Howie asked, "Are you okay, Ty?"
"I’m fine!" she snapped.
Brian said, "Oh boy! Two people on tour with raging hormones!"
Everyone laughed except Tyler. She really wasn’t up for the practical jokes and horsing around. They all realized it and let it drop.
In the suite, Tyler went straight to their room and slammed the door behind her.
The guys looked at each other and AJ asked, "What’s with her?"
Kevin shrugged her shoulders, "Don’t know."
"Guess you’ll find out, won’t you?" said Nick. "I sure am glad it’s you and not me."
Kevin said, "She’s not that bad when she’s angry."
Howie said, "That’s a matter of opinion."
"She’s probably just tired, guys. Look at the day she’s had," said Kevin. "On top of it all, she IS pregnant."
"Do you think it’s smart for her to take the job before she has the baby?" asked Brian.
"Yeah, she’s not going to dance once she’s showing which by the time we got to South America, she will be," said Kevin. "I’ll see you guys later. Oh, and do me a favor...keep it down."
They all chorused, "Sure...no problem."
When Kevin went into their room, he found Tyler sound asleep on their bed. He gently closed the door and went over to her. Carefully, he took her shoes off and then undressed her. He pulled the covers over her and went to get his shower.
Kevin got into bed after his shower and took Tyler in his arms. He kissed her tenderly and whispered, "Sleep peacefully, baby."
