Chapter 37

In the living room, the others were gathered waiting for Kevin and Tyler. Tyler sat on the couch with Kevin on the arm beside her.

Kevin asked, "What’s up, Jeff?"

"I need to know exactly what happened last night with Kristen?"

"She came..." started Kevin.

"From Tyler," said Jeff.

"She came on to Kevin and I fired her."

"Tyler, you aren’t even officially with us and you can’t fire someone just because they came on to Kevin."

Kevin said, "What about the fact that she tried to slap Tyler and called her a bitch? Tyler may not be officially employed by us yet but I’m not going to have ANYONE talk to her like that or treat her like that."

"No one mentioned that," said Jeff. "If that’s the case...."

Howie said, "That’s what happened. All five of us saw it and so did Billy and his guys."

"That’s fine, Howie. I didn’t doubt Kevin," said Jeff.

"What now?" asked AJ.

"We’ll support Tyler’s firing of Kristen," said Jeff. "We won’t tolerate that type of behavior either. Tyler, Christine said you’re going to give your notice to Disney and you’ll join us in South America."

"That’s the plan. I’d come aboard sooner but I have wedding to plan and I’ve been with Disney for quite a while. I owe them some notice."

"That’s understandable. When’s the big day?"

Kevin said, "April 14th. It’s going to be a private ceremony but we’re going to invite everyone to the reception."

"Let us know if there’s anything we can do," said Jeff.

Linda said, "You have the day off, guys."

"What about rehearsal?" asked Brian.

"It’s set of three this afternoon. Tyler, are you going to dance tomorrow night?"

Tyler looked up at Kevin. "I had thought about leaving before the show. I really need to get back to work."

Kevin said, "Let us talk and we’ll let Fatima know this afternoon."

"That’s cool," said Linda.

Kevin grinned, "So Linda...you never made it to the show last night. Where were you?"

The others echoed the same question and Christine laughed, "Linda, you might as well fess up because you KNOW the guys aren’t going to let you out of this."

"Okay! Jaime and I kinda got involved and lost track of time."

"Involved? Sure, that’s one way of putting it," said Nick. "We want details."

Tyler laughed, "No, we don’t. Linda, I’m glad things are working out for you and Jaime. I need to make some phone calls if you will excuse me."

"Go ahead, baby," said Kevin. "Then we’ll talk about the wedding."

Tyler gave Kevin a kiss and went to their bedroom. When she was gone, Jeff asked, "Kevin, it would make things a whole lot easier if you’d talk her into joining us today."

"I’ll try."

The first call Tyler made was to Mami and they got the information straight for the invitations. Then she called Sonja to find out what Tiffany wanted. They talked for a little while about Kristen, Amanda, and the guys. The next call was to Lex.

"Hello."

"Hey, Lex! What have you got planned for the next few days?"

"Nothing. Why?"

"AJ is in DESPERATE need of your company."

Lex laughed, "Really?"

"Yeah. Think you could make it out here tonight?"

"I’ll try."

"Call me back and give me the details so I can meet you."

"Okay.

Tyler hung up and was getting ready to make the last phone call when Kevin came in the room. He lay beside her on the bed on his back and put his hand on the side of her face. "Hey baby! Who were you just talking to?"

"I called Lex. She’s going to try and get a flight out here to be with AJ."

Kevin smiled, "Looking out for AJ, huh?"

"Yes. Has Jeff left?"

"Not yet. I came to see what was taking you so long."

"I need to make one more call. I left a huge bill at the park that I need to take care of."

Kevin took the phone from her and then took Tyler in his arms. "Don’t worry about that bill, baby."

"Kevin, I need to take care of it."

"It’s already taken care of. I took care of it that night...well, the guys and I took care of it."

"You shouldn’t have."

Kevin grinned that sexy grin that Tyler loved. "I know but I did it because I wanted to. Are you done now?"

"I guess so. I should call Mr. Burton and give him some kind of notice."

Kevin looked into Tyler’s eyes and brushed her hair back. "Baby, I’ve been thinking."

"Uh oh!" teased Tyler. "We’re in trouble then."

"I’m serious. I know we’ve had this discussion before and I know what I said, but I REALLY don’t want to see what it’s like to be without you."

"Kevin, you were the one who said that we should take this time to decide whether we wanted to be apart and I’ve already decided that I’m going to join you guys in South America."

"I know but it’s only two weeks left in this leg and if you’re worried about the wedding, you can call Mama and Mrs. Dorough whenever you need to."

"I need to find a dress."

"We’ll go look this afternoon."

"What if I find something I like? Who’s going to do the alterations?"

"Costuming can do it. Baby, please," begged Kevin. "Say you’ll stay with me. We’ve spent five years dancing around our true feelings for each other. Then, when I finally came to my senses, we faced Joey and Mr. Pearlman. Tyler, I know what it’s like to be away from you and I’ve had enough of it. I don’t want to have to go through that feeling I had when I left you in Kentucky."

Tyler saw the tears in Kevin’s eyes and she kissed him tenderly. "’Boo’, I love you so much."

"Then you’ll stay?" asked Kevin in a little boy voice that melted Tyler’s heart.

"Of course, I’ll stay."

Kevin kissed Tyler, deep but tenderly, their tongues tasting each other, wanting more. Kevin ran his hand down to Tyler’s stomach and she could feel the heat of his touch and she wanted more. She ran her hand through his hair and down his back to his ass.

Kevin pulled back, "I want to make love to you so bad."

"Then go lock the door," gasped Tyler wanting to make love just at bad.

"Everyone is waiting for us."

Tyler closed her eyes, "Damn! Okay...let me call Mr. Burton and give him my notice."

"Don’t take too long, baby."

Kevin kissed her again and handed her the phone. She made the call but only talked for a short time. When she hung up, she was crying.

"What’s wrong?"

"Mr. Burton was crying. He knew I’d eventually leave but he didn’t expect it to be so quickly."

"Was he mad?"

"No. Sonja and Fiona have been handling everything for me."

There was a knock at the door and Howie came in. "Come on, you two. Jeff and Christine are waiting for you."

Tyler wiped the tears and said, "We’re coming, ‘D’."

Kevin got up and helped Tyler up. He purposely pulled her to him, her body pressed to his. He had one arm around her waist holding her tight and the other in her hair. "I intend to pick up where we left off."

The couple went back out and Kevin said, "Linda, Jeff, Chris...Tyler has left Disney and is going to stay with us."

The guys went crazy dancing around the room and grabbing Tyler. Nick and AJ both swung her around as they hugged her.

Jeff and Linda laughed as Christine said, "I knew all you had to do was smile at her with those beautiful green eyes."

Kevin laughed, "And stop holding back. You’d think after five years, I’d have learned my lesson."

Tyler came back to Kevin and they sat down on the couch. Jeff reached over to the table and picked up a stack of papers. "Tyler, we need you to sign some paperwork to make it official."

Tyler and Jeff went through the paperwork and Tyler signed everything. It didn’t take that long. Then Tyler said, "Guys, Tiffany’s teacher wanted to know if there was ANY way possible you could come in for career day."

Nick asked, "What’s career day and isn’t Tiffany’s class kind of young to be considering what they want to be when they grow up?"

"Career day is when people from different fields come in and talk about what they do and what it took to get there," said Kevin.

"And no, Tiffany’s in the fifth grade. Now is the EXACT time they need to start considering it," said Tyler.

"Baby, when is this Career Day?"

"April 11th."

"That’s only three days before your wedding," said Howie.

"Yeah, I know. I thought you guys could go in and talk about the music and how you got started. I was also going to ask Fatima if she’d go with me to do a talk on dance."

Jeff offered, "We could go talk about the business aspect of this too."

Howie suggested, "We could get some of the guys at Jive records to come too."

"That would cover all the aspects of what we do," said Brian.

"That would be four groups too which is what Mrs. Abernathy was trying to do," said Tyler.

"I’ll call Jive Records and see if they’ll do it," said Howie.

"Cool! As soon as you get that done, I’ll call Mrs. Abernathy and let her know exactly what’s up."

While Howie was doing that, Jeff , Christine, and Linda got ready to leave.

"Linda, why don’t you and Christine hang around and go with me to look for a wedding gown?" asked Tyler.

"I thought you wanted me to go with you," said Kevin with a hurt look on his face.

"I did, but ‘Boo’, you can’t see me in my dress. It’s bad luck."

"Besides, if you go out, Kev, you’re going to attract a crowd," said Linda. "Tyler doesn’t need a bunch of teenage girls watching her pick out her wedding gown."

Christine said, "They’re both right, Kevin."

Kevin pretended to pout and Tyler gave him a hug. "Don’t worry, ‘Boo’. I’m not going to be long. I already have an idea of what I want."

"I really wanted to go though, baby."

"You’ll get to help me with everything else. Besides, this is MY secret since you won’t tell me where we’re going on our honeymoon."

Kevin considered this and asked, "If I go, then I have to tell you where we’re going on our honeymoon?"

Tyler nodded, "Yes!"

Kevin kissed her and said, "Have fun and I’ll see you when you get back."

As soon as Howie was done, he told Tyler that the guys from Jive would be glad to do it. Then Tyler went to call Mrs. Abernathy. It was all set for the BSB, Tyler and Fatima, Jive Records, and The Firm to talk to Tiffany’s class and three others about the music business.

While Tyler was in the bedroom, she called Lex back too. Lex had gotten a flight to Vegas that left Orlando at noon and she’s be in Vegas at six. She and Tyler worked out the other details and then hung up.

Tyler rejoined Kevin in the living room where he and the guys were watching Nick play Nintendo. Christine and Linda had had some business to take care of and said they’d be back in about an hour which was enough time for Kevin and Tyler to sit down and talk about the actual service.

As Kevin, Tyler, Howie, and Brian sat at the table to talk, AJ and Nick continued to play Nintendo. Tyler started by telling Kevin that she wanted to do ‘NSync’s song ‘This I Promise You’ which got AJ and Nick’s immediate reaction.

"YOU HAVE GOT TO BE JOKING?" yelled Nick.

"NO! She’s just lost her mind!" said AJ. "Those jerks have taken their shots at us at every turn! HOW COULD YOU EVEN CONSIDER DOING ONE OF THEIR SONGS?"

Tyler remained calm despite AJ and Nick dancing around the room like madmen. "Guys, I really like the words and they say exactly what I feel and I think it says what Kevin feels too."

AJ and Nick looked at Kevin who thought about the words.

AJ demanded, "AREN’T YOU GOING TO SAY SOMETHING, KEVIN?"

"I’m thinking," said Kevin. "Calm down you two. It’s not like she’s asking THEM to do the song for us. Baby, can you sing it?"

"Now?"

"Yeah."

"Howie, can you help me?"

"Sure."

The two warmed up and then together, Howie and Tyler sang ‘This I Promise You’."

When they were done, Nick and AJ shut up and Kevin asked, "When do you want it in the ceremony?"

"I thought I’d do it just before I said my vows to you."

"Then before I say mine, I’ll sing ‘Something About the Way You Look Tonight’," said Kevin.

Tyler grinned, "Elton John...I should have known."

"What do you want me to do, Ty?" asked Howie.

"I thought you could do ‘I Do(Cherish You)’ after you give me away. ‘Boo’, what do you think?"

"Sounds good to me. Okay, so after we’ve said our vows, how about a duet?" suggested Kevin.

"What did you have in mind?" asked Brian.

"Bryan White and Shania Twain did a song, ‘From This Moment On’. I think it would be perfect."

"I like that," said Tyler. "Kind of like lighting the union candle."

"Yeah," said Kevin as he looked into Tyler’s eyes.

"Okay...is that it?" asked Nick. "All this sappy shit is making me want to hurl!"

AJ seconded that and Tyler laughed, "You two just wait. Your day is coming."

"Never in this life! I’m just going to keep having great sex!" said AJ.

Tyler grinned, "Yeah! I hear you, ‘Bone’! Both of you are in for a rude awakening one day. Fiona and Lex aren’t going to put up with your sorry butts forever."

Nick laughed, "Yeah! Yeah! I’ll just give her the old Carter charm and she’ll be begging me for more!"

Brian asked, "Who’s going to perform the ceremony?"

"I thought I’d ask Tim," said Kevin. "Tyler, any objections?"

"No objections, ‘Boo’. The rest I thought would be traditional."

"Sounds good, Ty," said Howie. "I’ll get the bulletin done and get it to Mami. On the front, do you want it like the invitations?"

Tyler looked at Kevin who nodded his head ‘yes’. Tyler said, "Yeah, that’s cool."

Kevin said, "Make sure you put the poem Tyler wrote for me in it too."

"I’ll need a copy of it," said Howie.

"No problem," said Tyler as she went to get it for him. When she came back, Christine and Linda were back and she said, "Are you two ready?"

"Yeah," they chorused.

Kevin took Tyler by the waist pulling her to him. "Baby, I thought we had plans."

Tyler looked into his eyes and thought, ‘Damn, his eyes get greener when he gets horny.’ Then she said, "’Boo’, I want to start looking for my dress. I promise, I’ll be back before lunch. We’ll have a couple hours this afternoon and all night."

Kevin kissed her and said, "I'm going to hold you to that."

Tyler could feel Kevin’s hard on pressing against her as she whispered, "I certainly hope so" and she rubbed her hips against him.
