Chapter 50

Nick and Fiona went to Nick’s room to talk. Fiona took a seat in a chair and Nick sat on the edge of the bed. He leaned to her and took her hands in his. Before he could even say anything, tears were rolling down his cheeks.

"Damn.... I had this all planned out...my apology... but when I saw you a minute ago, I knew I had to do it now. Fiona, I really screwed up and I want to apologize. I’m terrified of a commitment and when things are going great for us, I get scared. I don’t want to hurt you, Fiona, but...I don’t know. I guess I figure that if I sleep with someone else, I’ll make you back off but you keep coming back and I know you’re coming back so I do it anyway."

"I love you, Nick, and I know you’re afraid of a commitment but it doesn’t have to be so scary. Look at Brian and Sonja and Kevin and Tyler. They’ve got a commitment and they’ve got great relationships."

"I know and I want what they’ve got but I’ve never had a normal life, Fiona. I grew up in this life and all the girls in my life have only wanted one thing from me...to be a Backstreet Boy’s girlfriend."

"I’m not like that, Nick. I love YOU for who you are, not what you do for a living."

"I know that now. One of the things Tyler told me about knowing when the right one is there was that you realize that you can’t live without that person in your life. When you walked out that door the other day, I felt like my heart was being ripped out and I’ve never felt like that before. I didn’t think I could go on without you and then last night in Tyler and Kevin’s room, when you wouldn’t talk to me, it just about killed me."

Fiona had to fight back the tears as Nick confessed his soul to her. "Nick, it took every ounce of will power I had last night not to run into your arms and tell you that I forgave you and that I wanted to be with you. I was almost thankful for the party lasting all night so that I didn’t have to go and spend another night without you."

Nick wiped the tears from her cheeks. "Sweetie, I’m done being a player and I promise, I won’t do it again."

"How can I be sure though, Nick? You say it every time it happens and I believe you never truly mean to do it again."

Nick thought quick and decided that now was the right time. He reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out the ring. He opened it as he got down on one knee. "Fiona, I love you with all my heart and I DO want you and only you in my life forever. Will you marry me?"

Fiona couldn’t stop crying but she managed to nod her head ‘yes’ and Nick slipped the ring on her finger. Then he took her in his arms and kissed her.

Burying his face in her neck, Nick said, "Sweetie, I’m so sorry. I never meant to hurt you."

"I know, Nicky," whispered Fiona.

Nick picked Fiona up and set her down on the bed where he lay beside her holding her close. He placed kisses all over her face and neck as he ran his hands down her stomach. His touch was electrifying and Fiona felt like she was on fire. Nick didn’t waste time as he undid her jeans and slipped his hand into her pants. He lovingly caressed her mound as they kissed. Fiona could feel Nick’s erection as their bodies pressed together.

"Make love to me, Nick."

Nick stood up and quickly undressed as Fiona shed her clothes as well. The two rejoined each other as they made love like it was the first time ever for them.

In their room, Tyler hung her stuff up in the bedroom until they were ready to leave and then went to join Kevin, AJ, Howie, and Brian in the living room. The guys were playing cards and AJ had just dealt a new hand when Tyler came into the room.

AJ looked up. "Wanna play, Ty?"

"No, thanks. I’ll just watch," said Tyler as she sat behind Kevin.

Kevin leaned against her and gave her a kiss. "Are you okay, baby?"

"Just tired, ‘Boo’."

"Why don’t you take a nap before we head over to the arena?" suggested Howie.

"I’ll be okay."

Kevin looked at Tyler and decided not to push the issue. She did look tired and he knew she’d listen to him but he also knew that she’d rest if she needed to. He said softly, "Why don’t you call room service and order lunch for us?"

"What’s everybody want?"

The guys made up a list of what they wanted for lunch and while they did, Lex joined them. She added her order to the list and Tyler called room service.

"What about Nick?" asked Brian.

"Yeah, where is ‘young, dumb, and full of cum’ anyway?" asked AJ.

Kevin said, "He’s apologizing to Fiona."

Lex asked, "So she found him?"

"Yeah, we ran into her when we came back from shopping," said Tyler.

Howie said, "It’s about time he fixed it."

Lex sat down with AJ and said, "Fiona was going to tell him she wanted to come back anyway so it’s a good thing Nick decided to apologize."

Tyler looked at Kevin and smiled. Kevin winked back at her as he said, "He’s going to do more than apologize."

They all looked at him and Lex said, "Looks like Fiona’s not the only one with a surprise then."

"What’s going on, Lex?" asked Tyler.

"I can’t tell you right now. Fiona will tell everyone when she’s ready."

The rest of the afternoon was spent in Kevin and Tyler’s room just hanging out. When it was time to go, they all got their things together and headed to the limos. Fiona and Nick were the last ones to join the others but that was typical. Billy and Curtis had to bang on the door to get Nick’s attention and then the two had to scramble to get things together.

The remaining eleven days of this leg of the tour seemed to fly by for everyone. Kryss finished Tyler’s wedding gown; Kevin bought an off-white tux with tails to match Tyler’s dress; and Nick and Fiona were inseparable.

When they were done in Mexico, the whole gang flew home to Florida where AJ, Howie, and Kevin prepared to go do the Diva’s show. Kryss, Lex, and Tyler went with the guys for the show.

After returning from doing the Diva’s show, Tyler and Kevin were spending a quiet evening at home. Sonja and Brian had gone to Kentucky for a long weekend so the couple had the house to themselves. Kevin was stretched out on the couch with his head in Tyler’s lap and Quincy stretched out beside him. Tyler was playing with Kevin’s hair as they watched television when the phone rang.

Tyler reached for it and said, "Hello."

"Hey, Ty. This is Chris. Are you and Kevin going to be at home for a while?"

"Yeah. Why?"

"I want to come by and talk to you two about Kevin’s petition for adoption."

"Okay. We’ll be here."

"I’ll see you in a few minutes. I’m leaving the office parking lot now."

Tyler hung up and Kevin asked, "Who was that, baby?"

"Chris. She’s on her way here to talk to us about your petition for adoption."

Tyler had a worried look on her face that Kevin didn’t miss. "Baby, don’t worry. I’m sure there’s no problem."

"I hope your record of always being right holds up but I have a bad feeling about it."

"It’s just your hormones playing tricks on you," teased Kevin. "How did Chris sound?"

"Like it was serious."

"Stop worrying. She’ll be here in a few minutes and she’ll tell us what she wants."

Tyler looked down at Kevin and into his eyes. "I wish I had your confidence."
