Chapter 85
Kevin looked at Nick, "What is your problem, Nick?"
Nick started hyperventilating as he pointed at Tyler.
Kevin looked at her as she said, "Uhhhh....Kevin...I think my water just broke."
Everyone’s attention turned back to Nick as he passed out. Tyler couldn’t help but crack up laughing hysterically at Nick as the others scrambled to bring him back around.
Kevin was somewhat irritated by the whole situation thinking it was only going to upset Tyler but when she started laughing, he relaxed and was amused that Nick had passed out. He smiled and said, "You guys take care of Nicky and I’m taking Tyler in."
Howie said, "I’m going with you."
Kevin didn’t argue with him and he scooped Tyler up in his arms. Howie gave Kryss a kiss and the three left together with security.
On the way to the hospital, Tyler leaned against Kevin and every time a contraction hit, she would squeeze his hand. Kevin held on to her knowing that he was going to have to tell her the truth soon and wanting desperately to make it all go away. He kissed her on top of her head and held her close.
At the hospital, Tyler was taken straight to the Birth and Recovery room and both men were allowed to go with her. The concern showed in their faces as they watched the nurses getting Tyler ready for surgery.
Tyler looked up at Kevin not knowing what was happening and saw the look in his eyes. "Kevin?" she said panicked.
Kevin moved to the head of the bed and took her hand in his. He leaned over to her and brushed her hair back. "It’s okay, baby."
"What’s going on, Kevin?"
This was it. The moment he had been dreading for the last few hours. "Tyler, they’re getting you ready for surgery. The baby isn’t in position for a normal delivery so they are going to have to do a C-section."
"Oh god, Kevin!" cried Tyler.
"Shhhh....baby," whispered Kevin as he brushed the tears away. "It’s okay. There’s NOTHING wrong with the baby. He’s just being stubborn like his mother and not where he’s suppose to be."
"There’s more, isn’t there? What aren’t you telling me?"
Kevin looked at Howie for help and Howie came over to the bed. He took Kevin’s place, taking Tyler’s hand in his, and sitting down on the edge of the bed with her. He smiled that easy smile of his and said, "’Sunshine’, I’ve always been there for you, haven’t I?"
"Yes," she said in a child-like voice.
"Listen to me now. You’re blood pressure is TOO high and the doctor is concerned. You have got to calm down and forget about Joey and the custody and anything else you might be worried about. You have to focus on a strong, healthy baby."
Tyler took a deep breath and said, "Happy thoughts."
Both men smiled and Kevin said, "Why don’t we plan our honeymoon?"
"To Italy?"
"Of course," said Kevin trading places with Howie again. He sat beside her talking softly about Italy and their honeymoon. He described where he wanted to take her and what they were going to do while they were there. Tyler closed her eyes and began to relax as she listened to Kevin’s slow, southern drawl.

Everyone back at the hotel was getting ready to go to the hospital after Howie had called with the information. That is, everyone except Lex and Fiona. The two of them just sat watching television and didn’t make any effort to get ready.
AJ looked at Lex and asked, "Baby, what’s up? Aren’t you going with us?"
"Why should I go and watch you and the others make such a big fuss over Tyler....as usual?"
Kryss asked angrily, "What’s your problem? Tyler is our friend and she’s having a baby."
"Women have been having babies for YEARS without such a big commotion being made over them. Why should Tyler get all this? What’s she ever done for me....or you for that matter?"
"Let’s start with introducing you to AJ in the first place. If it weren’t for Tyler, NONE of us would have met the guys. You wouldn’t have your job if it weren’t for Tyler too. Why don’t you stop your bitching and be happy for her? She’s got enough on her mind without having to worry about you being jealous of her."
Nick looked at Fiona. "Sweetie, aren’t you coming?"
Fiona looked at Lex who shook her head and said, "No, she’s staying with me."
"Fiona?" questioned Nick.
Quietly, Fiona said, "I’m staying here."
AJ had been watching the whole scene with Lex, Fiona, and Kryss and all of a sudden, the last couple of months became perfectly clear. He looked at the others and said, "Brian, you guys go ahead. Nick and I will follow shortly."
"Are you sure? We can wait. Tyler hasn’t even gone into surgery yet."
Looking at Lex, AJ shook his head. "I’m sure. I think we have some things to clear up."
The three left the two couples and headed to the hospital.
"Okay, Lex," said AJ when the room was clear except for them. "It’s time to lay things on the table. Ever since Rio, you’ve been a real pain in the ass as far as Tyler is concerned."
Lex took a deep breath and faced AJ. Ever since the scene in LA with Ali, Lex had been extremely vocal. "AJ, I’m sick and tired of all the attention you give to Tyler. The way you acted in Rio when she disappeared, anyone would have thought she was YOUR wife. You and Nick both."
"Damn, Lex. She was pregnant, she broke her wrist, and the crowd was out of control."
"Let me finish. Whenever ANY of you have a problem, you go to Tyler. It was Tyler when your grandmother died. Tyler speaks and you all jump. I’m sick of it, AJ, and so is Fiona."
Nick looked at Fiona. "Is that how you REALLY feel?"
Fiona nodded her head ‘yes’ but didn’t say a word."
Lex continued, "And you, Nick....hyperventilating because her water broke. Give me a damn break. Then there’s Ali. It was Tyler..."
"Stop right there," growled AJ. "Tyler had NOTHING to do with Ali. In fact, she was PISSED at me for messing with Ali in the first place. Tyler didn’t want me to HURT YOU! She and Ali were best friends and what happened with me and Ali this last time destroyed whatever friendship they had left. And we’ve been down this road before, Lex. I’m NOT going to change my relationship with Tyler OR apologize for it."
"You told me you loved me, AJ...that I grounded you, helped you focus. Is that true or were you just saying that to appease me?"
"I meant it."
"Then why aren’t you willing to do what it takes to make our relationship work?"
"It works for me."
"You’re saying you aren’t willing to change?"
"I don’t see a need."
"Fine. I’m outta here. Come on, Fiona."
Fiona looked at Nick and started to leave. AJ growled, "Fiona, you leave here with Lex now, you might as well leave Nick’s ring."
Fiona looked at Nick again, searching his eyes to see if he would stand
behind what AJ had said. "Well?" she asked.
Nick looked at AJ who said, "Take it, damnit. If she’s THAT jealous of
Tyler, it’s NOT worth it."
Nick turned back and said, "Give me the ring."
Fiona slipped the ring off and handed it to Nick. Then she followed Lex from the room. They slammed the door shut behind them and Nick shuddered at the sound.
Nick looked at AJ with the ring in his hand. AJ said, "It they aren’t willing to accept our relationship with Tyler, screw them. They’ve done this before and they came crawling back to us."
"And what if they don’t come back this time?"
"Fuck ‘em! Let’s go see Tyler."
