~*~ Things to Do ~*~
Excited silence filled the car as AJ headed through the neighborhoods. He held Andi’s hand in his, their fingers laced together. He ached to hold her close and show her how excited he was over the turn of events. His mind was a whirlwind of thoughts, things to do. He had to hire a private detective to find out what it was Seth was hiding.
Andi’s thoughts were just as chaotic. She watched him as he tried to focus on his driving. She watched their hands laced together, his thumb stroking the back of hers. He had won her grandfather over so easily, just like he’d stolen her heart. What was it about him? For her, it was his eyes. They cast a spell over her every time she looked into them.
Reaching his house, AJ hesitated before getting out of the car.
Seeing his hesitation, Andi asked, "What’s wrong, Alex?"
"Nothing, baby," he smiled kissing the back of her hand.
She leaned to him and touched her lips to his, a gentle caress that set him on fire.
He let out a low growl. "How in the hell am I going to make it through the morning?"
Her voice dripping with sexuality, "You know, I COULD blow off my morning classes and we could stay here and make love. Tabitha is in my morning classes and I could get my notes from her."
"I can’t," groaned AJ in frustration as she ran a finger ever so lightly along his thigh. "We’re meeting to discuss when and where we’re gonna be recording."
"Then we’d better get going," she purred grasping his bottom lip between her teeth and sucking it into her mouth.
"Good Gawd woman! You’re making me hard."
Andi laughed as she jumped out of the car, "Poor baby!"
AJ watched as she pranced around the car headed to the front door not looking back. He could tell by the way she walked that she KNEW what she was doing to him. Quickly, he grabbed his keys and scrambled out. He jogged to catch up with her, grabbing her by the waist and spinning her around. He set her down and as she giggled, he kissed her neck. They made their way to the house, their arms wrapped around each other, lips locked.
As AJ was got ready for his day, Andi sat on his bed watching.
"Your mom doesn’t like Seth, does she?" called AJ from the bathroom as he shaved.
"Never has. She says he’s skanky."
AJ stuck his head out. "Skanky?"
"Uh huh!"
"Your mom is cool…and fucking hot!"
"Is she better looking than me?"
AJ came out, bare-chested and wearing just a pair of boxers. Standing at the edge of the bed, he pretended to think it over. "If I were older or she were younger, I DEFINITELY would have to find out if she’s as hot in bed as you are."
"Ohhhh…you are sooo bad, McLean," smirked Andi grabbing him by the waist and pulling him down on top of her. "First your message on the machine and now being turned on by my mother."
With a devilish grin, AJ said, "You don’t like my message?"
"Oh, I love your message, especially the way you got back to me," she purred running her fingers along his back. "So, you think my mother is hot?"
"I definitely see who you take after…same exotic beauty, same fiery temper. What’s the story behind your mother not liking Seth?"
"You need to get dressed," replied Andi kissing him before he got up. She watched as he grabbed the clothes he’d set out. "Seth’s mom and my mother grew up together…best friends until my mother met my father. Seth’s mom, Carlotta, is the one who squealed to the tribal council, and my grandfather, that Mama and Daddy were seeing each other."
"Why would that matter?" asked AJ curiously.
"I’m not full Seminole. My father is Cherokee, from Northern Georgia…."
"And your father didn’t approve?"
"Not at all. It was bad enough that his only daughter couldn’t marry the medicine man’s child since it was Carlotta, but for Mama to find someone outside of the tribe…well, it broke them apart. Neither one of my parents approved of the ‘promise’ ceremony and didn’t attend. That was when I basically went to live with my grandfather because my parents and I argued constantly. Mama told Grandfather that the tradition, and I quote, was ‘archaic and Neanderthal’."
AJ laughed, "Sounds like something you’d say."
"Never to my grandfather."
Ready to go, AJ took Andi’s hand to help her up. "Baby, tell me something. You’re strong willed, independent, but you let your grandfather make your decisions for you. You obviously don’t love Seth and you have a way out with your parents…why continue to go with this arrangement?"
Andi tucked her head, "Because it’s what my grandfather wanted and I always thought he knew what was best. I NEVER imagined finding a love like what we have. I always thought…okay, Grandfather and Grandmother had an arranged marriage and they loved each other completely….maybe it will work out for me too."
AJ cupped her chin and tilted her face up to look at him. "You deserve to be loved, passionately, and I plan on doing just that."
"Alex, what if you can’t find something on Seth?"
"I gave your grandfather my word…I’ll walk away. But that’s NOT gonna happen, beautiful. Let’s go."
Going down the steps together, Andi handed AJ his cell phone back. "Here you go. Thanks for letting me use it last night."
"Keep it baby. I’m gonna buy another one. This way, you’ll be able to call me whenever you want."
"I can’t afford it, Alex."
"Don’t worry about it. I’ll pay the bill. When are you getting your car back?"
Andi shrugged her shoulders. "Not sure. I told the body shop I couldn’t afford it right now so they aren’t rushing."
"Who’s doing the work?" asked AJ innocently.
Andi didn’t think much of the question as she said, "Roger’s Body Shop in Kissimmee."
AJ made a mental note as he opened her door for her. Hopefully he’d have time before the meeting to take care of his growing ‘to do’ list…new cell phone, hire a private detective, get Andi’s car taken care of, buy a ring for her.
Reaching the college, AJ said, "If you need me, Howie’s ‘4’ on speed dial, Kevin is ‘5’, Nick is ‘6’, and Brian is ‘7"."
"Who’s ‘1’ and ‘2’?"
"My mom for right now but as soon as I get my new cell phone, I’ll be ‘1’ ‘2’ are my grandparents.."
Andi laughed, "What makes you think I’ll put you ‘1’?"
"Because you love me that much," he teased. "You’d better get to class. I see Tabitha now and she looks impatient."
Andi looked in the direction of the building. "She’s probably wondering what’s going on since I didn’t call her last night. I love you, AJ."
AJ kissed her, a long, slow kiss, tongues teasing each other, before letting her head to class. He waited long enough to see her go into the building despite the fact that he’d never make it to his meeting on time.
