Class: Climber Height: 8-10' Width: 6' Hardiness: Zones: 5 and higher Bred: Kordes, 1961, Germany Description: Double, red, fragrant. Comments: Obtained in February 2005 from Pickering and planted on the front porch post. I wanted a really special rose for the front porch. It had to be red to match the door, disease resistant, fragrant, and repeating. I found all of that in Illusion. I admit red is not my favorite rose color. Often the old flowers fade in an unattractive way. Not so with Illusion. The colors remain vibrant and the flowers nicely formed until the petals drop. So far, it has shown no disease. Now that most of the privet hedge has been removed around it, Illusion is really taking off. | ||
