The word Trigonometry comes from the Greek words : Treis = three, Gonia = angle and Metron= measure. Early greeks developed Trigonometry as a subject when studying the relationship between the arc of a circle and the chord of the arc.
Originally, it was used with astronomy, but later in Architecture, Navigation, Surveying and Engineering, and recently in mathematical analyiss,repeating waves and periodic phenomena.
