Dawn and Spike had been together for two weeks now and still hadn't had sex. Not from a lack of trying on both their parts but they always seemed to get interrupted. None of the Scoobies knew they were a couple yet, they thought it best if they kept it a secret. They knew it would cause problems, Buffy would kill Spike most likely and even if she didn't they would keep her from seeing him.
The first night, after her birthday party there wasn't enough time. The gang finally left around 3am and then Buffy dragged Spike to patrol with her. He stopped by her window just before sunrise to kiss her. It was sweet. Not that she'd ever tell him that. The next night they were at his place downstairs, scene of the crime so to speak, just as things were heating up Xander burst through the door upstairs. Some big scaly demon was in town and they needed Spike’s help to kill it. So while Spike was stalling Xander, Dawn was getting her clothes straightened out. Spike and Xander took her home and then met up with the others at the Magic Box.
It was the same thing all week. It didn't matter if they were at his place or in her room. Someone always managed to come by before anything happened. It was frustrating as hell. Spike was going to kill them. All of them. Every single one of them had at one point interrupted him with Dawn. Being cock-blocked every night for a week was not fun! He decided it was time to go someplace where there would be no chance of interruptions. He rented a motel room. Now all he had to do was get Dawn out of the house for the night.
Dawn heard a knock at the front door and rushed down to open it. She was hoping it was Spike. Buffy had gone shopping and Willow and Tara were at a Wicca meeting so they would have some time alone. Not enough time for anything serious but they could still do some major kissing and touching. She flung the door open with a huge grin on her face. Her expression turned from happy to shocked. "Uh, hi Angel." Angel just smiled at her and held out a brightly wrapped gift. "Sorry, I couldn't make it last week. Work has been hectic. Happy Birthday!" Dawn invited him in and told him that Buffy would be home soon. They went into the living room and sat on the sofa. Dawn opened her present, it was a pair of expensive designer Italian leather boots. They were beautiful. "Cordy helped pick them out." She smiled at him and thanked him.
She leaned over to hug him just as Spike walked through the door. He had seen Angel through the window and wasn't to pleased about it. Dawn pulled away from Angel and walked over to Spike. She took his hand and pulled him into the room. She showed him the boots that Angel had gotten her. Hopefully he would realize that she was only thanking him for the gift. She knew about their past well enough to know that Spike was jealous of Angelus' relationship with his ex-girlfriend. She also knew that Spike was very possessive. Seeing as how no one knew they were together she hoped he wouldn't cause a scene. Angel of course demanded to know why Spike was just walking into Buffy's home uninvited.
Before Spike had a chance to speak, Dawn very calmly told Angel that Spike was her friend and he was always welcome in her home. Spike added that he sensed a vampire inside and was just making sure that she was okay. Angel wasn't completely satisfied by this answer but he could tell just by looking that the two of them were very close. He would have to ask Buffy if she was sure it was right for a sixteen year old girl to hang around with a vampire constantly. As soon as he thought it he started to laugh. Seeing as Buffy was only sixteen when they first met, he had no place to judge Spike and Dawn’s friendship.
The couple in question were looking at him strangely when he burst out laughing. Spike immediately pulled Dawn behind him. "Angelus?" He asked. Angel shook his head. "No, Spike. Still Angel, I was just thinking about the similarities of me and Buffy to you and Dawn. I was questioning if it was right for a young girl to spend so much time with a vampire. Kinda hypocritical huh?" Spike turned around to face Dawn. She looked worried. They were both wondering if Angel was onto them. "Yeah well, what can I say? Women find me irresistible." Spike smirked and sat down in the chair. Dawn went back to the sofa and sat down beside Angel again.
After about ten minutes of awkward conversation Buffy came home. She saw Spike and asked him to help her bring the bags in from the car. He smiled at Angel and went out to help her. Angel looked over at Dawn and she smiled. "I told you, he's my friend and he's welcome here. Even Buffy likes him. She pretends to hate him but she doesn't."
"So I see." Dawn went out to the kitchen to help put the food away. Angel followed. When Buffy came back in with more bags she saw Angel standing in the kitchen and almost dropped everything. Spike walked in behind her, looked at the Slayer and his Sire staring at each other. He set his bags down and motioned for Dawn to follow him.
Once they were out of sight and hearing range of the couple in the kitchen they were immediately all over each other. Spike pulled her close and ravaged her mouth. She returned his kiss with equal intensity. They pulled away before they could get lost in the moment. It wouldn't be very smart to get caught by both the Slayer and Angel at the same time. Spike told Dawn of his plans for them to be alone. She agreed, she figured she would tell Buffy she was staying at Janice's over night. All she had to do was call Janice and convince her to lie for her. It wouldn't be hard, they had done this before. Hopefully with Angel here Buffy would be too distracted to pay much attention.
Dawn went back into the kitchen and asked Buffy if she could sleep over at Janice's house. Buffy agreed but told her to ask Spike to walk to her over seeing as it was dark. Dawn went upstairs to pack her bag. Spike could hardly believe how easily duped the Slayer was. Watching her mooning over his Sire he could hardly believe he was ever stupid enough to think she was the right girl for him. He should have known, blondes were always bad luck as far as he was concerned. Darla, Harmony, Buffy, they were all wrong. Thank God, or whoever looked out for chipped pathetic vampires that he had found Dawn. Or more to the point that she had found him. Smart girl she was. She knew that they were right for each other before he did. Hell, he'd probably still be pining away for Buffy if he hadn't seen Dawn looking at him with such desire that day in his crypt.
By the time Dawn came down stairs with her bag Buffy was sitting at the kitchen table with Angel and Spike. They were discussing some demon in LA that was giving Angel a lot of trouble. Buffy had decided to go back to LA with Angel for the weekend, she was waiting for Willow and Tara to get home to see if they could come with her. Spike was trying to come up with some excuse not to go in case she asked him to. "Spike you'll have to take patrol for me this weekend. Xander sprained his shoulder at work so you'll be on your own. Dawn? Do you think you'll be able to stay at Janice's for the weekend?" Dawn nodded her head. "I don't see why not, Janice's mom likes me. I'll go call her." Dawn rushed back upstairs and called Janice to let her know what was going on.
When Dawn came back down Willow and Tara were home and had agreed to accompany Angel and Buffy. Every one was getting ready to leave. Dawn said goodbye to everyone and left with Spike. Nobody suspected a thing. They walked toward Janice's house just in case they were being watched. As soon as they were out of sight, they waited until Angel's car pulled away before heading to the cemetery to pick up Spike's motorcycle.
The Hotel was on the edge of town, Spike figured it was the best place as it would be too far for Buffy to be patrolling. He dropped Dawn off at the room and told her he'd be back in an hour. He was just going to do a quick sweep through the cemeteries. Dawn kissed him goodbye and told him to hurry back.
Dawn spent her time waiting for Spike by taking a bath and getting ready for bed. She packed a red silk and lace nightgown and robe set that she bought right after her birthday. In fact she used the gift certificate Xander and Anya gave her. She smiled when she thought about the reaction they would have if they knew what she spent their money on. Xander would probably faint and Anya would ask for details.
By the time she heard the motorcycle pull up outside she was lying on the bed in the nightgown flipping through the channels on the TV. Spike made short work of patrol that night he dusted about six Vamps in one cemetery and two in another. He figured that was enough for one night and went back to the hotel. He knew she was as eager for this as he was. Maybe it was just as well they hadn't been left alone before now. He didn't want to push her into a physical relationship, but she seemed more than happy to go willingly. He knew that there would be no regrets in the morning. If they had done this the first night she might have regretted it the next day. Now they both knew it was what they wanted.
He could hardly wait to get back to the hotel. The only reason he left in the first place was so that Dawn wouldn't feel guilty about nobody patrolling. He pulled up in front of the room and turned off the bike. Spike walked into the hotel room and flung his duster over the back of the chair. He looked over at Dawn and his eyes widened. She was beautiful, he expected her to be wearing an old tee shirt and boxer shorts like she did at home. Maybe a pair of silk pajama pants and a camisole, but he never expected this. "Come 'ere pet." He told her. She smiled and slid off the bed. She walked slowly toward him and then spun around. "You like?" He nodded emphatically. "Very much." He pulled her into his arms and kissed her softly. "No need to rush this time, we've got all night."
The kiss seemed to go on forever, Dawn couldn't believe how much her life had changed in such a short time. A month ago she was the just the Slayer’s kid sister who had a crush on a Vampire. Now she was a young woman who was about to make love for the first time with the only man she ever loved. She couldn't believe how lucky she felt to have him, to know that he wanted her, not Buffy, not someone else, her. She loved him completely, but she knew he wasn't there yet. But that was okay because she knew he would be soon. Spike had been hurt too many times to let down his guard so easily. She would prove to him that he could trust her not to break his heart.
Spike was thinking similar thoughts, he knew Dawn was in love with him. She hadn't said it out loud but it was in her eyes when she looked at him. He also knew that she was aware of his feelings. He loved her. Maybe not as deeply as she loved him but he was scared of being in love. It always let him down in the past. He knew she understood this and she didn't push him. It was for reasons like those that he knew he would fall in love with her soon. He couldn't help it.
Spike picked Dawn up and carried her over to the bed. He laid her down gently and then removed his boots, shirt and jeans. He climbed onto the bed with her in just his boxers. They resumed the kissing and touching, Spike was determined to make her first time as pleasurable as possible. He removed her nightgown and kissed his way down her body, he had done this before. They hadn't been completely with out relief this past week. She had made a point of tasting him again as soon as she was able to.
That was the first thing that shocked him. You don't find many virgins who want to give head. He made sure he returned the favor. And here he was again, with his head between her thighs, enjoying it almost as much as she was. She was quiet in her passions. A good thing when you're sneaking around but right now Spike wanted to hear her scream. "You don't have to be quiet luv, no one'll hear you." He continued to pleasure her, thrusting his tongue inside, she moaned out loud. "That's it pet, let me hear you." He sucked her clit into his mouth and flicked his tongue over it rapidly, she came crying out his name.
He brought her down gently and then pulled his boxers off and positioned himself at her entrance. "Are you ready luv?" She nodded at him. "I've never been more ready for anything in my life Spike. Take me, make me yours." Spike pushed his way in slowly, stopping when he encountered her barrier. "This is gonna hurt a bit." She nodded and he pulled back and then quickly thrust inside her. He stopped and held himself completely still while she adjusted. He licked the tears from her face and kissed her softly. "I'm ready." She whispered.
He moved slowly within her. Pulling back until he was almost completely out and then pushing back in until he was buried inside her. He sped up slightly and she picked up his rhythm and matched it. Spike was once again shocked by her, she didn't move like a virgin. Not that he was complaining. She was a quick study. Their movements became harder, faster, more intense as they strived toward their climaxes.
Dawn knew that Spike could not bite her, so she did the only thing she could think of, she buried her face in his neck and as she came she bit down hard. Spike howled in surprise and pleasure, his face changed to that of the demon and he came hard. He knew he didn't have to hide his true face from her. She accepted all of him. Which she proved by pulling him to her and placing a soft kiss on his forehead ridges.
Spike rolled off her and pulled her into his arms. He looked at her smiling face and knew. He was in love with her. She had given him her love, her heart and her innocence. She knew what he was and yet trusted him completely. She would never hurt him or leave him or make him feel inferior. She was his, and he was hers. He would love her for eternity if they had that long.
"Dawn, I need to tell you something." She put her finger to his lips. "No you don't, I already know." He held her tightly and kissed the top of her head. "You know me too well, lil bit. But I'm gonna say it anyway. I love you Dawn Summers. I always will."
"I love you too Spike, forever."
