News on 'The Grudge' and other SMG movies
Sarah Michelle Gellar's new movie, 'The Grudge' is in the post-production stage. It will be released on October 29, 2004, in time for Halloween. According to www.filmratings.com it will be rated 'R' for 'some disturbing images'. However, according to the message boards at imdb.com, there are two cuts of the movie that may be shown, one with a 'PG-13' rating and one with an 'R' rating. However, I'm more inclined to believe filmratings.com.

Also, SMG has signed on for a new movie, Southland Tales, from writer/director Richard Kelly. It is in the pre-production stage, with some roles still to be cast, and it is due out in 2005. Summary: A musical/comedy set in 2008 where a three-day heatwave in Los Angeles culminates in a huge Fourth of July party. (Genres: musical, comedy, drama, thriller). [Info courtesy of imdb.com.]

Also due out in 2005, according to imdb.com, is Happily N'Ever After, an animated film in which SMG voices Cinderella, nicknamed Ella, while husband Freddie Prinze, Jr. voices Rick, Ella's true love and the palace dish-washer. Sigourney Weaver lends her talents as well, playing Frida, Ella's evil stepmother. The story is based on Grimm's Fairy Tales, the second-best selling book in the world. (The Bible is the first.) Try checking out the film production company's website for more info and a promo pic (which I would have posted here, but didn't for fear of being sued.) The film is slated for a release in Summer 2005.
