"Welcome to the Hellmouth Petting Zoo."-Buffy, Dead Man's Party. (3.01)
I was watching my Buffy Season Three DVD today when I heard that line and thought, "Why not add a hellmouth petting zoo to my site?"
Now I'm thinking frantically, "What the heck can I put in here besides that zombie cat from "Dead Man's Party"?
Well, there was Norman Pfeister (sp?), the bug man, but he was more demon-y, wasn't he?
And everything else...weren't they all demon-y?
I guess I could really stretch it and say that the Mayor was zoo-worthy once he ascended, and those evil season one hyenas. Ditto for that Key-sniffing snake Glory sent after Dawn. But other than that...?
Oh, well. I'm gonna try.

First up...
THE MAYOR
Scientific Name: Biggus Politicianus
First Appeared: "Graduation Day, Part II" (3.22)
Died out/Killed off/Extinction: "Graduation Day, Part II", about five minutes after its first appearance.
Cause of death: Attacked by the Class of '99.
Facts: Formerly known as Mayor Richard Wilkens, III, this specimen thrives on humans like they're "kibbles and bits". Its downfall is apparently its fatherly love for its partners in crime. Hmm...who'da thought?
SPAWN OF SOBEK
also known as
"That Key-sniffing Snake Thingie"
Scientific Name: Freakius Maximus
First Appeared: "Shadow" (5.08)
Died out/Killed off/Extinction: At the end of "Shadow".
Cause of death: Killed by the Slayer (Buffy)
Facts: Summonded by Glory and one of her minions to sniff out the Key, which it did, prompting Buffy to go after it and kill it.
This "Spawn of Sobek" can be summoned.
Sobek was an ancient Egyptian crocodile god.
As we leave the reptile house, we come across some more domestic zoo inhabitants...
"PATCHES" THE ZOMBIE CAT
Scientific Name: Former-us Feline
First Appeared: "Dead Man's Party" (3.02)
Died out/Killed off/Extinction:
-First death: prior to the events of "Dead Man's Party"
-Second [zombie] death: Sometime during "Dead Man's Party"
Cause of death:
-First death: Unknown
-Second death: Death of zombie demon incarnate
Facts: Named "Patches" by Oz.
-Body originally found in the Summers' basement, of all places
-When Patches was buried, Joyce Summers said a few words: "Goodbye, stray cat that lost its way. We hope you find it."
-Buffy also said a few [less eloquent] words: "Thanks for stopping by and dying."
