Interview With The Vampire opened on the 11th of November, 1994 in America. The film starred Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, Antonio Banderas, Stephen Rea, Christian Slater and Kirsten Dunst. Directed by Neil Jordan and the screenplay written by Anne Rice. The film opens in present-day San Francisco and the vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac (Brad Pitt) begins telling his tale to the young reporter(Christian Slater). He tells of his life in the eighteenth century, when he had lost his wife and child and had been spiralling down a road of depression when the handsome, immortal vampire Lestat(Tom Cruise) came into his life and offers him the chance to become a vampire. Louis accepts but now sees the world and his maker in a completely different light.Lestat makes the child, Claudia into a vampire. Louis tells of his and Claudia's search for answers that eventually leads them to Paris and the mysterious vampire Armand (Antonio Banderas) and his coven.
The tale ends in San Francisco with a twist for original fans of the book.
