Rumors about Tifa

Rinoa heard some pretty rude and untrue things said about her buddy's new girlfriend. So she and Tifa teamed up to tell off those stupid Anti-Tifa supporters. Both Anti-Tifa and Pro-Tifa are seriously gonna love this page! ^^

Ridiculous Rumors

Rinoa: I found some really mean things said about my buddy, Tifa. I'd like to share them with you, 'cause nobody messes with my best friend and gets away with it! So here it is:

"Tifa is such a damsel in distress. Cloud is always having to save her."

As Angel Tifa noted,

I would like the proper definition of a damsel in distress. Would that happen to be when you are distraught by the death of your mother and walk into the mountains alone to do some thinking, but a caring person worries about your well being and follows right behind you on that old decaying bridge because they want to make sure you don't get hurt? Or maybe being a damsel in distress is someone who tries to kill the murderer of your father after trying to destroy your hometown but unfortunately fail because of the murder's immense power? Perhaps a damsel in distress is someone who risks her life to find out the true nature of an overpowering pimp daddy somewhere in the slums to save the lives of the people around her. Oh yes, I also remember these so called distressful damsels staying at the side of their true love in their times of desperate need no matter what the circumstances around them. I guess there are just so many definitions! But I know one thing for sure, whining and running away begging for the help of a "body guard" while being chased by a group of unprepared soldiers is rather than confronted the enemy and your fear is certainly NOT a damsel in distress, wouldn't you agree?

"Cloud hates Tifa. She needs to get over him!"

Really? He truly hates her, huh? If he hated her so much, how come he promised he'd save her when she was in trouble? If he hated her, why didn't he let her die when Sephiroth cut her? If he hated her home come he grabbed her hand on the Highwind when she was about to fall, or when she fell off the cliff and he came and caught her? And if he TRULY hated her, then why did he try to save her from Don Corneo? I mean, Cloud would rather give his own life and throw himself into a committing army that infuses Mako into your body as permanent treatment because he hates her so much, am I right? *glares*

"Tifa was mean to Cloud when they were little. What a bitch!

Okay, here I go explaining the truth to these meanies! As Angel Tifa stated:

Was Tifa really mean to Cloud when she little or was she just being a normal child? Now, really I must say this issue comes up a lot, and it's mainly because they develop a bad attitude towards Tifa later on, in order to get Tifa to make her look bad one must find something so basic that's it complex and make her sound like a bad person. Whether it's 'she was mean to Cloud' or 'she let Marlene make drinks' both can be easily counteracted if one knows the story. If you play the game you should the reasons and answers behind these, and when I mean if you play the game, that is directed towards people who don't make character shrines to video game and anime characters.
So let's really look deep into this statement. Certain fans or people who don't like her make this statement and somehow back it up with uncomplex proof. Now, for some odd reason whenever someone talks about how bad Tifa is, we must include the fact that Cloud was an innocent victim, did anyone ever stop to think that maybe Cloud did some things to Tifa that weren't very nice? Of course not, because Tifa is the devil, and she did everything wrong to poor ol' Cloud Strife. Correction, neither Tifa nor Cloud were responsible for anything to be called a horrible character. In fact both Cloud AND Tifa had one of the most complex nature's in the game.
We look at the childhood years, someone claims "the way Tifa treated Cloud was sick! Cloud liked Tifa when they were younger. She practically ignored him because she had her little fan club of boys. When all of them left, Tifa finally turned to Cloud and made him make a promise which obviously later didn't intend to keep. But when Cloud didn't like her anymore she was all over Cloud. In Costa Del Sol she's not even nice to him, she doesn't even nicely ask him to leave when she's talking to Johnny. She treats him so bad, and then by 'worrying' about him in Disc 2 makes me sick. They weren't life long friends. The way she treated him is nothing a real friend would do." Actually I think that's pretty harsh but surprisingly a lot of people who don't like her think that way. Doesn't matter does it? If you don't like her what's the point of writing about it? Wrong, I feel that's it unjustified as most of the arguments against her are, but this one bothers me the most.
Most of the game, Cloud goes unsettled he doesn't know who he is, and he believes he is Zack. Most of the game it revolves around Cloud's past, therefore revolving heavily also on the past of Tifa. Cloud's memories are questioned from being made up from Tifa's stories, thinking he's not real at all. Most of what is important to Cloud is what happened to him in the past, what happened between himself and Tifa back then. In fact before Cloud disappeared from the group, he says to Tifa that she's been the best to him, and that he wants her to meet to real Cloud! So where does this idea come from? In the lifestream, when Cloud and Tifa's minds are melded together, we find out a lot about Cloud and what happend back then. Both were young, and if I'm not mistaken young children don't think like 20 year old adults, in fact immaturity plays a big role, and that's the way all people are. So why do people constaintly say Tifa treated him bad? Tifa was a popular girl, she lived in a very small town, and she did in fact hang around the boys there. Cloud admits that they were all stupid, laughing at every little thing, he wanted to be included into the group, but was never allowed. He says that, that day Tifa's mom died was the only day he was in her room. Tifa always had thought they were close, but then finds out they weren't. Tifa was dominated by the little boys she was with she had never noticed Cloud before, he would always stand out her window, hoping the others would let her in. Cloud never mentions that Tifa wouldn't let him in, that Tifa completely ignored him. In fact he blames himself for being prejudice and weak, he, in other words was jealous of these boys, the last time I checked jealousy wasn't a healthy attitude. But he thought that since they would always laugh at everything that he was different, maybe if he acted like them, they would let him, so he hung around. But of course at this point Tifa is being mean to Cloud, because SHE wouldn't let him in? No, they wouldn't let him in, no one ever stops to think that maybe SHE had a crush on him? I don't think it's just sudden that she agreed to go out to the well when he asked. He did ask her, not the other way around, Cloud asked Tifa, and Tifa went, he didn't think so but she did. So why was it that, she was worried about him the most, that she looked in the newspaper after he left to see if he made it into SOLDIER. It wasn't love, but it was a crush turning into love, Tifa mentions in the lifestream,

"Right, I was wearing these clothes."
"That's you, too. You were so small then......"
"...and cute."

Tifa obviously had a crush on him, mentally and phsyically. Maybe she was scared to talk to Cloud as he was to her, because in the same way Cloud had a crush on Tifa. In any case, Tifa saw something special in Cloud, and through opportunity, she was seeing it better, at the time on the well. People are such Cloud defenders that it makes me believe they are fangirls, they ignore everything that Cloud did when he was younger and blame it on Tifa sort of like a scape goat. Tifa aplogized quite a bit in the lifestream after seeing her own faults, yet Cloud made sure that she didn't have to apologize. He was mad at himself and for his own mistakes. Cloud was certainly not the victim, and neither was Tifa. They weren't victims to eachother, they BOTH made mistakes and in the end they found solace in eachother.
As for the promise, Cloud definately intended to keep it, in fact the Promise was one of the most important scenes in the game, to Cloud. The childhood promise, tells of an important memory that they both know; besides the scene with Tifa's room, that remains the closest things that happened sentimentally. Cloud is asked to recall this memory, to tell if it's a memory not a fake one, not just something imagined. Cloud promised Tifa if that anything where to happen to her he'd come and rescue her. It's sweet, as explained in other sections of this site. But Cloud could have NOT kept this promise, but he did, he certainly did, if he did not in fact, intend to keep this promise would he have not watched over and saved her later in the reactor scene? When Cloud meets up with Tifa in 7th Heaven, when we are first introduced to Tifa and the Promise, Cloud does not remember the promise. Would you expect him to? He barely knew who he was, nevermind a promise from a past he could barely recall. After he does remember it somewhat, he says that he could not keep the promise. He immediately says this because she says to him if he ever made it into SOLDIER and she was ever in a bind he'd come and rescue her. Of course he'd say no, he didn't make it into SOLDIER, he couldn't keep it, he didn't fullfill her wish. And he couldn't look deep into what they had, because he didn't remember. But they don't even remember that he did keep it after all.
The scene between Johnny and Cloud is a void, because Tifa in the script doesn't even say anything (correct me if I am wrong) and Cloud and Johnny are arguing about things, he doesnt even REMEMBER Johnny! And he shouldn't, they never even met! And lastly, about disk 2, I think it speaks for itself that Tifa thought they were close in there childhood years, a mistake, but both made it, and they were friends throughout disk one, you see they gained a friendship when they made the promise, they weren't best friends, but things occurred when they were little for both of them. You can't expect Tifa to know everything Cloud was doing, because he kept to himself a lot anyway. If you think Tifa was a bitch, so be it, but don't forget Cloud was not mary sunshine himself. He made mistakes himself, and that's what makes life. Over time Tifa gained a love for him, she realized what kind of a person he really was, maybe not totally, but she wanted to be close to him for it. There really was something deep about the way they were, otherwise probably they would have died in the lifestream, there minds really did meld, and it's quite rare that two subconsciences would do so if not very close. In the lifestream we find out so much more about what was going on, and personally I think they became even closer, and I think Cloud was falling in love with her during that time and after. By the time the Highwind scene came, they were completely fallen, which leads to what most of the dialogue was about till the end of the game.
But don't take my word for it, it's clearly scripted in the game. If you disagree in anyway feel free to email about it, but nicely.

Nicely put! Way to go, Angel Tifa!

"Tifa clings to Cloud all the time."

What the hell? How do people come up with these things, and can they be absolutely sure that they'r talking about the RIGHT person? Maybe it's because people are a combination of being immature and too ignorant to play the game, perhaps that's why they don't understand anything about it. I don't remember seeing TIFA asking if Cloud and her were meant to be together...!

"Tifa broke up Cloud and Aeris!"

What? I seriously think you guys should REPLAY the game! I'm not even in FF7 and I STILL see the truth! Since when was Cloud and Aeris even a couple? Every time she acted all cute and stuff it seemed to annoy him. I mean a few times he laughed, but she was always so immature and a little brat it was hard to even consider them as a couple! If anything, Aeris tried to break up Cloud and Tifa!

"Tifa didn't help Cloud at all in the lifestream. She just stood there and watched him put himself together."

As Angel Tifa said again:

If anyone wasn't so naïve and just plain stupid, for lack of better words, you would see that Tifa was CLEARLY a crucial part to Cloud's understand who he is. As Sephiroth tried to confuse Cloud and throw his entire life into haywire, he said that his memories were made up things consisting from parts of Tifa's memories, memories of a boy that could have been a "Cloud" that lived in the town when she was younger. But with Tifa there, who else would be able to see that his memories belonged to him and not made up? Who else but Tifa could have been there to be the ONLY one to encourage him and guide him to the parts of himself that were blocked off for so long. Who else but Tifa could have been the one that Cloud loved and based the course of his life around her, joining of SOILDER to prove his worthiness of love not to be unrelinquished, and virtually had his destiny centered around her. If not for Tifa, would Cloud have strived to be who he was, a someone risking his life for the others on the planet? Tifa is Cloud's other half, the half of everyone that can only be complete by your true love. They are meant for each other, as the various signs in the game point to. It only takes a little intelligence to see it ;)!

Tifa is a slut:

Ok you know what? I have HAD it with people saying Tifa is a slut, and wanted to screw Cloud in Final Fantasy VII. I intend to defend Tifa's character. I mean doesn't it really get you people mad when you enter a chat, or meet someone who constantly makes a fool of themselves by making up lies and saying "Tifa is a slut" "Tifa is a whore", and the only excuse they can give is that she wears those clothes. Well you know what if I had a body like Tifa's I would wear those clothes too. I mean her clothes aren't EVEN as bad as some people(or even anime girls) out there, seriously. I mean doesn't the phrase "Don't judge a book by its cover" mean anything??!!?? Obviously not! I mean I can't take people saying "Tifa is the whore, and Aeris is a pure angel" ::BARF:: ::PUKE!:: Ok you know these kinda people actually make themselves look like they have NEVER played Final Fantasy VII. I mean they say that Tifa actually said "Cloud screw me" UGH! I mean its unbelieveable, I could actually PROVE Aeris was more of a whore than you anti-tifa people think that Tifa is a whore! Ok like first off, you see Aeris as some innocent kinda person, and every defends that and what not. But people look fast the evil skin. Ok for instance, when Cloud falls into the church where Aeris is, didn't you people notice at ALL, that she comes RIGHT onto Cloud..sheez!! I mean then people come up with the arguement "Oh she was only flirting"...FLIRTING???!!?? What world are you people living in!? She THREW herself onto Cloud(not literally), with that corney pick up line "Be my bodyguard for a date". During the whole time she was alive she did that. Ok and something else..get THIS, Aeris must've "loved" every freaking guy in FF7 I sware, first it was her first boyfriend that she mentions to Cloud "wasn't that serious", Zack. Then he suddenly dissapears, I guess she didn't give a damn, and started to say she liked Tseng.. then she must've forgot about him because she suppossedly liked Cloud. Then people get off saying Sephiroth and Aeris make a good couple...OH BROTHER!!! See?? SEE??? I mean Aeris didn't EVEN really liked Cloud, she liked the "Zack" in Cloud..0_o On the OTHER hand Tifa only liked one person..CLOUD! HOW IS THAT SLUTTY???!! She didn't even say anything to him, she stayed by his side, and watched over him, almost protecting him. Poor Tifa, she is one of the most misunderstood characters out there in the gaming world. And yeah I DO hate Aeris, for that mostly. Throwing herself onto Cloud, and making Tifa look bad. I mean its funny though when you think about it, I still can't get over the fact people can't come up with a "valid" arguement why Tifa is a slut, BECAUSE SHE'S NOT..lol, in the FtLoT guestbooks, that gb gets the worst comments about Tifa. I mean if you can't figure out on your own Tifa isn't a slut, yeah that's your problem, but I was just trying to make a point here. Ok so the next time you people decide to say Tifa is the slut think about how stupid your making yourself. And go ahead and email me, say Im a bitch blah blah Aeris rules. I can care less anymore, I'll simply say grow up, and leave it. *crosses arms*

Tifa's a brainless ho

I highly doubt that she's a "brainless ho" mind you. She's not a garden tool, for one. Secondly, it really makes somebody "brainless" if they can escape a gas chamber. Yeah, there Tifa is, strapped into a chair, defenseless in a room full of poisonous gases. The key is lying a few feet infront of her, and she finds a way to unstrap herself and turn off the gas. Yeah, she's REALLY brainless, huh? I suppose it takes a "brainless ho" to be constantly surrounded by men and join a martial arts class to defend herself if one of them tends to get out of hand (and you know what I mean). I guess I brainless ho is considered a person who doesn't run away from what she fears most and sticks to the people she loves. Yeah, I salute you people...

Tifa was so mean to Aerith! She acted like such a bitch!

You know, you're a bright bunch of people, aren't you? If you're referring to Don Corneo, how would you react if a complete stranger went up to you and said, "Oh yeah! I know you! You're Cloud's friend, I'm [insert name here] so how are you!?" and stuff like that. Somebody you dont't even know who knows about the guy you love and who you are. And I don't recall Tifa ever being mean to Aerith. She volunteered to rescue her when she had a choice of staying behind and going. She was worried sick when Tseng kidnapped her, and showed more emotion towards Aeris then anybody else! Hell she even CRIED when she died. Yeah, Tifa was REALLY mean to her!

Tifa was mean to Barret!

What the hell? You people are stupid as fuck. If you're talking about when they were on the train, he was about to shoot some guy. This would've added more pressure to the party then they already had on their shoulders. She had to restrain him! If you were talking about when they were running up the stairs in the Shinra mansion, he was being annoying and childish, and apparentlly, she was getting sick of it. If Barret didn't act like such an idiot, maybe she wouldn't have done anything. But instead, she took care of his child while he was away. She helped create a rebellion that would be the end of Shinra and Sephiroth. She helped him find members and create an army. Yeah, she was really mean to Barret, wasn't she?

I don't like Tifa because she's NOT a slut: Now I've heard some dumbass reasons for hating Tifa, but this is by far the most stupid as it can get. If you don't like somebody because they don't sell themselves, then you're pretty messed up in the head.

I don't like Tifa because she's sexy: .....Then you must seriously be gay then. If you're male, you are SERIOUSLY gay and have some stupid problems. Obese girls aren't proud of their bodies, trust me, I have plenty of friends who wish they had bodies like Tifa. If you're a girl, then what in God's name is wrong with you? Most girls would love to have a body like Tifa, considering she's still a beautiful girl and in shape. IT'S NOT A SIN TO LOOK GOOD. And appearence shouldn't matter. Tifa's a sweet, kind hearted, optimistic, loving person. Why should you care how she dresses or how big her chest is or what not AS LONG AS SHE'S A KIND PERSON? Please people, think before you say something. It makes you look less of an asshole.

And that's all I have to say about those ridiculous rumors about Tifa. She and Cloud "were" the couple for FF7, but then again, Zell came along and was a whole lot better to Tifa then Cloud was. So this was all from the game, and not the fanfiction. You'll probably see this a few times through the site, but the rest is huge Zell/Tifa! So continue to have fun with the rest of the site!

Reasons Why I Like Tifa

Oh gawd, I could write a book on why I like her so much. But here are some things leading to why. Well first off when I first played FFVII I thought it was a cool game. I was sort of disappointed that the graphics weren't as good as FF9's, but I was satsified. I found the game interesting, and I was a bit surprised about my first impressions on the characters (for example, I thought Aeris was a sweet, innocent, loving 40-year-old mother or aunt who sold flowers.... MAN WAS I EVER SURPRISED!) When I first saw Tifa, I thought her and Barret were married because of Marlene, but then I knew that was impossible because she had feelings for Cloud. At this time the storylines never crossed my interest, well I mean the way I'm obsessed with it and all. I liked the storyline though. Okay so after a struggle, I beat the game (eventually lol) and I wanted to play it again I loved it so much. But I still wasn't INTO the storyline, then I played it AGAIN. But basically, I automatically liked Tifa when I first saw her character artwork, because she looked like those badass street fighters who could whup anybody's ass and STILL look pretty. Then I played the game and saw that although she wasn't a street fighter, she still had the character that I had planned out. THAT'S when it all started, THAT'S when I started getting into Tifas character more and more.

There were times when Tifa seemed so innocent to me, and yet had a spirit that was unbeatable. She was always my fighter in the middle, even in the way beginning I always used her, and always put her in the middle, I still do to this day. For some reason she just stood out. She seemed like a trooper, and her past was so amazing and in depth. Shes a character all girls can relate to, meaning when you have feelings for a guy, and you can't tell them because your afraid you might ruin the relationship you have. But when I think of Tifa, and that scene under the Highwind when Cloud and her talked and Tifa fell asleep on Cloud shoulder, I didn't cry, but I had that feel-good emotion towards those two. I mean it was so beautiful. Tifa gave her heart out to stay by Cloud to help save the planet. When Cloud was in a coma, she admits she stayed by his side till he got better, nothing else mattered to her but that. Tifa's beautiful eyes, and quotes she expressed where like some kinda poem. She was filled with all sorts of hope. Tifa was not the kind of girl to let things get by, she's strong and for most a positive thinker... I loved that, I mean she tried her hardest to fight and continue on a journey to avenge the things that happened in her past. She was also the kind of girl to help others, she was very selfless, she thought about the well beings of others before her own. Like in Sector 7 when she went to Don Corneo's to find out what was up with the Shinra and the plot to destroy it. She cared all about the people, and definately risked her own being to find this information out, and when she did, she was determined to stop the Shinra. And that's something she lived by, her hatred for Shinra, war, and Sephiroth. No other character could ever be close or better to Tifa in my eyes. In the end, she fought like she wanted to fight, along side Cloud. Tifa was not however all about Cloud, like I said above she had her own goals and Cloud was one of them. I hate when people say she's all about him, because she wasn't, she had her own life, but most of it happen to revolve around Cloud, and she loved him.

Fan Editorials?

All the fan editorials toward Tifa can go here. I would definetly love to hear from you! ^^
