COMING HOME
A POETRY BY GERRY WARD
Oh Lord, Our Father, Who art in heaven.
As I get down on my knees,
I pray and ask that I be allowed to come home.
For I am Tired and my flesh is weak.
My heart full of pain and great sorrow,
With no comfort in sight.
Forgive me, my father, for I find my burdens too great.
I cannot bear it any longer.
For I am a sinner.
I want to come home to rest my weary soul.
So that all the tears that I have shed through the years
will be washed away in heavens glory.
So I pray and ask that you take me home.
To deliver my soul from these pestilence,
that have encompassed me.
Take me home, so I can find rest and peace at last.
To sing praises of glory, in your name,
That I have come home at last.
