The Shepherds among the Flock - Gods |
|
Long ago... we banished the deity. We ruined the Loom for which they wove our destiny, and they became lost. Religion flirted with death, but among the herd existed an idea. This idea became them, the Shepherds of the Flock reawoken without the approval of society en masse. Below is a list of deities, those who fall 100% into the category of Godhood are subject to The Compact, but we won't tell you what's what. the following are characters posted with the permission of their creators. Teronum - Teronum is the Oldest among the Few, appearing in dreams and stigma as a large Night Goat. And even though he is believed as the most fashionable, Teronum appears in scenario as a natural deity - doing what must be done with a cold and wise heart. His symbol is a pair of ram horns, and his color is black. Rebekah - In story, Rebekah is said to have slain Teronum during a coup in Limbo, removing his many wings and scattering them over the Great Ocean between Heaven and Hell. Rebekah's color is black and he appears as a melodramatic figure with eyes like twin stars. Teoyaomqui - Teoyaomqui is the God of Dead Warriors. He is said to have been born again during the perversion of the Ichorstorm and the coup of Limbo. Lord Ladion of the Order is his Seneschal, he is believed to train the Armies of the Gods in Valhalla. He appears as a battlefield. Chronus - In the middle-years the lifespan was short, and all the curses that time wrought had been malevolent... a society needed explanation, and Chronus the Forester was born. Chronus' caerns are places of agelessness and individuality; rumored to harbor the Fountain of Youth. Worshipped as a benevolent natural deity, he assumes the roll as a neutral Entity amid The Few. Chronus is seen as a large and wise Owl. Talos - A God of Destruction. He appeared most during the era of Gargauth's Second Coming. He and Tempus were called upon to warn the world in storms and wakes of disaster of the Hidden Lord. His symbol is a sword. Tempus - A God of Storms. He appeared most during the era of Gargauth's Second Coming. His symbol is a lightning bolt above the karmic symbol of Fuhra. The Compact - -The Realm of the Gods, is known as The Fugue. The Fugue is the place unseen by any other of humankind, and is woven in a Carpet. There the Gods are mortal to one another. -Blessings. A deity is a figure of idea, and although one may favor a mortal and do fair things for her, "Blessings" are not given. For the deities are creatures of belief, not power. -A deity is welcome to auto-hit... on a very, very minor scale. Indeed, because if there were one thing to separate Restofkind from Godkind, it is the amound of control demanded of The Loom -When one of the Few manifest and become tangible, it may be killed. And although Godhood is a thing of belief, it will be passed on to whomever claims the Bones of a Dead God. It is a difficult thing, though, for the Environment bows to the figures it created. -The Ascended who choose not to Manifest will wander the world unseen, as a humankind spirit. Only an Ascended may see another Ascended. They cannot be touched, or touch. They cannot be effected, or effect. -The Ascended live with their mortal turmoil. They may weap when a loved one dies, or become angry, frustrated... the Gods are not absolute, which make them frightening. -A God is tricked as easily as another at any time, for though they've Ascended into a forceful and neverending reality, the flaws of mortalkind are enhanced in them. Their flaws are the weapons to A Scourge [One who kills Gods]. -A God cannot Kill another God. |
