When the last Elven ship finally reached the immortal shores during the Fourth Age, the Undying Lands vanished into another dimension, beyond human understanding. The globed world increasingly evolved into the mortal planet of Earth. The land-masses drifted toward the familiar shapes of our known world. And as mythic time passed into recorded historic time, the Earth began to orbit the sun in the physical universe.
