EX(Excellent) - tape is either an original commercial tape, or was recorded directly off of TV in SP or LP mode.
G(Good) - tape is practically perfect. Examples would be first generation copies off of originals, or tapes recorded off of TV in SLP mode.
A(Average) - tape has defects, but minor ones (slight degradation, breif tracking, etc.).
F(Fair) - noticeable defects, but still watchable. (degradation, bad spots, tracking lines, muffled sound, etc.)
B(Bad) - significant defects. Watchable, but barely. (significant degradation, numerous bad spots, major tracking, picture rolls, muffled sound, ect.)
