"I lift up my eyes to the
hills -
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord ,
the maker of heaven and earth."
To "retreat" implies a coming out from the hustle and bustle of everyday pressures into a place of seclusion, shelter and refuge where we can be at one with ourselves and with God. The scenic and restful environment of the Cameron Highlands provides an excellent setting for the location of the new Anglican Retreat Center ("The ARC.").
The "ARC" can be considered:
A gift from God - A place to be refreshed, and renewed in vision and purpose. A place to discover more of our Lord, a place to commune with Him.
A gift to God - An offering of our skills and talents to the crafting of the Center for His glory and also to be accountable to God as we use our time, resources and abilities wisely in creating this Center.
The Anglican Retreat Center, the first for the Diocese of West Malaysia, will be located on a 1.7 acre piece of land where the present All Souls’ Church is situated.
The "ARC" will include the replacement of the existing church, and the construction of a large multipurpose hall, kitchen, dining room, seminar rooms and accommodation for individuals and small groups in uniquely furnished bedrooms and chalets.
The Anglican Retreat Center is estimated to cost between RM 2 and 2.5 million. Besides helping us with your earnest prayers for the entire project - including design, approvals and contracts - we would also like to invite you today to share in this project by making a pledge to contribute as much as you are able to. As many of you know the country is in the midst of an economic "slow-down" and the Church has not been spared either. Funding for this entire project is dependent on Christian individuals and congregations. If you wish to contribute to this project please send your cheques, money orders or bank drafts to:
