Character Biographies
Here are the character bios for the Wheel of Time. Most of the main character's bios will be about them before the series. If these are in any way wrong or outdated or need to be updated please contact me.
Rand al'Thor
Top dog here. The fate of the entire world rests on the shoulders of a common sheepherder. But is this sheepherder more than he seems? You bet he is. The Dragon Reborn. He Who Comes With the Dawn. Cara'cairn. Caramoor (I hope that's how you spell it). Many other titles that I can't even think of. Rand al'Thor did, however, start out as a sheepherder. He grew up in the small region
called The Two Rivers in a small town called Emond's Field in the nation of Andor. He was raised by Tam al'Thor, a sheepherder himself. But Rand was not born in The Two Rivers. Tam had left the nation at one point and had returned with a wife and a child, Rand. Rand grew up as a trouble-maker, like all young boys, with his friends Mat and Perrin. His childhood sweetheart was Egwene al'Vere, daughter of
the mayor of Emond's Field. The two were all but promised to each other, if it weren't for an Aes Sedai. Rand did not live directly in Emond's Field. He lived west on the Quarry road, a few hours from the small village.
In truth, Rand was not the son of Tam al'Thor. His parents were really an Aiel father, and... (I forgot the spelling on this one. I'll get it to you when I can.)
Matrim Cauthon
Matrim, also known as Mat, Cauthon. Mat is probably my favorite character in this series. He is good with the ladies, and a real warrior.
Mat grew up, like Rand and Perrin, in Emond's Field. Mat was the trouble-maker. He always got into trouble with Nynaeve, the village Wisdom. There was never a day that would go by and Mat would not get switched because of one thing or another. But to Mat it was all fun. He always wore his mischevious little grin... until Moraine came to Emond's Field.
Perrin Aybera
Perrin Aybera is probably the most down-to-earth character in my opinion. He thinks things through before acting. He is very recourceful and gentle.
Perrin grew up in the Two River's on a farm not far from Emond's Field. Perrin had a very large family, and he shared his farm with them. As Perrin grew up he began to work with Harel Luhan, the blacksmith of Emond's Field. Perrin would work with the blacksmith long, hard hours. Which earned him a little respect around the village and some very big shoulders.
Egwene al'Vere
Egwene is the daughter of the mayor of Emond's Field. She was being trained by Nynaeve al'Meara to become the next Wisdom of Emond's Field. As she grew and matured she and Rand fell in love, and would have been promised if it had not been for Moraine.
