Orchha:- built by in 16th century by the Bundela Rajput chieftain Rudrapratap on the banks of Betwa River in Central India.The elemental beauty of this ancient capital of the Bundela suggest that time has come to a standstill,at complete rest here. Jehangir Mahal was built by Raja Vir Singh Ju Dev in 17th century.The sky scrapping chattris of this palatial structure enhance the beauty of Jehangir Mahal. In the magnificant palaces and temples of Orchha the Bundela style of art is quite evident.As is seen in the Lakshmi Narayan Temple were the paintings (minatures and murals) depict the mystical tales of Heaven and Earth.The temple excels in the artistic masterpieces in the said form which are still well preserved today. |
