7/11/98--Rutland VT.--9th Annual Ron Williams Run F.O.R. Southwest chapter.
Just my comments on yesterdays ride
7/12/98--We had a great run yesterday despite the rain, about 50 bikes, it was challenging at times.
The Special Olympians who will benefit from the proceeds($2,000+)face their challenges daily. Southwest Chapter
did a fine job conducting the run and picnic that followed. Anyone who may be interested in being part of this
run next year, contact me. At the end of the run the clouds cleared and the Sun shined on us all the way home.
So the next time you see a biker cruisin' down the road, he or she may just be heading home from a mission.
7/19/98---5th Annual Ride for a dream, Make A Wish N.H. run sponsored by Dreamcatchers.
My comments on yesterdays ride
We had a great run through New Hampshire, The Dreamcatchers really know how to organize a run for such a good cause.
Met a lot of new people in the 600 (est.) riders. It was calculated approx. $22,000.00 was raised for the NH MAKE A WISH.
Unfortunately 2 bikes got too close and went down, the riders are reported to be ok and stable. Its always a wake up call that
these things can happen. This was our first year doing this ride, and I know we will definately be putting it on our calender for next year.JDC
UPDATE 7/21- Bruce is doing better, when he came to, the first thing he said was "How much did we make?" Now is that dedication to the cause or what!!
8/16/98---The 13th Christmas in August Toyrun was a great success, over 1500 bikers filled the statehouse steps with toys and games.
Thanks to the Burlington Freepress for the coverage.
