A LONELY PLACE
The emptiness of this place surrounds me.
Souls who were loved and lost forever present.
Sadly I sit beside one in particular,
my Michael, victim of a tragic accident.
A stone placed amidst them all,
that bears your precious name.
The pain, it fills my every hour.
Upon my heart has cometh the rain.
Torn from this life at too young an age.
Your adulthood never seen.
Please someone shake me, wake me.
Put an end to this horrible dream.
Oh Michael of a thousand smiles,
your essence so terribly missed.
I'll always remember chubby baby cheeks,
and the ten tiny toes that I once kissed.
It's so very quiet here, I feel so alone.
As I sit beside your earthly remains,
I feel the abyss in my heart widen.
Oh God, just take away the pain.
I know that you reside in the land of sunsets,
my memories upon which I rely.
I have only one question to ask,
Michael, why, oh why did you have to die?
